And that why we need someone who can work XSI. I was gona start work on the Bothan Assault Cruiser but i ned to draw out a model sheet for it first since i havent found any side shot of it. So in the mean time what else to do we need?

By "code it in" do you mean get the .xsi in XSI? Because i can do that... there are a few problems with importing other models, but i guess it should be ok. So i would need the .xsi or .obj and that's it... pretty much.

By the way, do you expect me to map the Capital ship O_O?!?

No by coding i mean doing the code (aka programming) ingame to get it running an all that.

Well i'll send you some .xsi when i get time, and for mapping no, i will do it eventually or if we find someone who will just to uv maps.

Before i start mapping anything i want to get it ingame and working, that way we will know if the model need to be optimize or parts changed.

Also that reminde me i,ll have to do some shadow, lod and collision mesh before giving them to you (Do you know how to put those together in XSI?)

I think i do.... welll, i know shadowvolume but about the other ones im not sure tho. (about the collision msh) and i have no idea what lod is. Anyways, the coding is easy .. lol. All you do is press a button!

so you can get it in xsi and export it as a msh right jabba? can you set up the odf for it? if not send the msh to me and i'll work on it some, i've been doing some odf editing for these skins, new chars, etc...i think i can get it to work. so if you're done with it raingod, go ahead and send it to jabba and we can get started :D

lesse, something else to work on...well, a command center of sorts would be useful for trans's dantooine map...we don't have any pictures, you could just be creative ;)
or a vong landing ship would also be extremely useful for several maps. not even as a flyable vehicle, necessarily, just a prop. here's a render of it from another mod: http://legacy.gamemod.net/Images/render ... nsport.jpg
although i'd say leave off that tongue thing at the front, and make it look more...landed.

Well in the ART file it said that LOD was a low poly version of a model that is used when viewed from a distance.

Anyway i think i will finish doing the buildings for the refugee base then start on some vong stuff.

Polygon Count Limits (general guidelines):
Props - 0 - 500 polys
Buildings - 200 - 3000 polys (the higher end of this spectrum represents large buildings with large interiors)
Vehicles - 1500 - 2000 polys
Characters - 1500 - 2000 polys

I got that from the documentation for the mod tools, so Raingod I don't think the Victory is to big since it is a capital ship, but if it is reduced some that just means we could add more to the map. The Victory and coufee look amazing :D if we get the coufee in-game soon we will be the first to do so for SWBF2, I think.

Raingod, whenever you can get that tent to Jabba it would be nice, the dantooine map is looking really bland without an actual camp.

Well i can get the tent finish tomorrow, i will do a version with the doors shut too, it will be alot lower in poly, and i just started work on the a general structure which can be used for the command post and the other structures in the camp. The CP version will have a small platform next to it with a Com Array and Generator. For the structures inside i guess we can use stuff which is allready ingame (is it possible to place stuff inside another model? Like put console and tables and so on which are allready ingame inside a new building model).

It is possible to put models inside models, as long as the building is big enough of course.

dont say command post, you'll confuse us all ;) (with the capturable CP's in bf2). say command center or CC, or even command building/CB.

here's an idea: make the generator and com array separately, and maybe trans could set them as destructible cps :D








also, i've been working on a corran reskin:

the second one is based off one of the "generic" jedi who already had a goatee, but was bald. thats why his hair looks kinda weird. the first one is based off of obi wan.

trans prefers the first one, and i do as well, despite the texture glitch on his skirt which i dont know how to fix.

but what do you guys think?

Hey the first of is good, but doesn't Corran keep is hair shorft like the second one? Also if i remember he has grey in his hair.

Also maybe we should ask to get our own sub section in the forums, would go alot better then just keep posting in the same post.

we thought of that, but we didn't want to be...presumptuous...besides, we're going for the record ;) longest thread ever here at gametoast. i think trans said the longest one was like 37 pages or something.

and yeah, i think he might have had some grey in his hair by this time, i'll see what i can do about that, and the length. i think i'll just focus on the first one from now on, unless jabba absolutely hat.es it or something. also, i could use some ideas for force powers, since corran doesn't have telekinesis, but most of the fp's in bf2 are based off of that...

The first looks more like Corran. The second could be made into Ganner.

Doesn't Corran have energy obsorb, i remember that in I Jedi he was able to obsorb energy bolts. So that should say make him immune to laser bolts and lightsaber attacks for a certain amount of time.

Add a little "untidyness" into the first one and it would be great. And remove the moustache in the gotee on the second and you have Ganner. Also add gray in Corran's hair. My two cents. :)

so raingod you're saying i should basically give him something like leia's invulnerability? i was thinking something along those lines too...i'll have to see if i can make it affect him to. maybe something between defense rally and invulnerability? with perhaps a smaller radius? i was also thinking about making his deflection (lightsaber block) cost no energy...i think i know how to do that...

and thanks for the comments guys, i'll work on implementing them as soon as i can, although it may be a while, i've got a lot of stuff to do until wednesday. but next week is spring break, so hopefully i'll be able to get a lot done then :D

Yea something like that expect it would only make him invulnerable agaisnt energy weapons (not sure if this would be even possible).

Anyway i was gona put up the two version of the tent but decided to Map it first, got the one with the openable doors done and started work on the lower poly one with closed door. So if someone wants to give a shot at skinning it i can send you the maps.

Actaully, i have to skin it by myself in XSI ... (i believe, not sure) so you might be wasting your time...

I wouldnt see why you would need to cause, it should export texture coordinates along with the model.
