RE: tutorial to making hills/mountains
I'll make one for you now!
1. Go into height editing mode in ZE.
2. Type in the height you want in foreground and background values in the sidebar on the left. (it's best if you make these the same value)
3. Select "spray" (no quotes) from the modes in the top part of the left bar. (across from paint)
4. To make the "brush" size bigger or smaller, increase/decrease the values in "width" and "depth" (no quotes) in the size part of the sidebar.
5. Under "Shape" (no quotes) you can select what the terrain will look like when you shape it. I sugget bell if you want smooth, rolling hills that look natural.
6. Now. click and hold where you want your hill to be and when it is at the desired height/shape, release. When shaping the terrain, I suggest going into height or color view. (the views are at the top toolbar, near the layer selection box, under "Terrain Views:")
If you would munge and test the map now, The hill would be very rough and abrupt. what you need to do is:
7. Select the blend tool from the toolbar (down and to the left of spray). no values are needed in foreground and background with this tool, it will blend any terrain you click and hold on, slowly. so, click and hold ona and around the hill until it is at the desired smoothness.
8. When you are done shaping the terrain, save, munge and you should have a nice looking hill/hills in your map!
That should help, and Welcome to GameToast Gambluh!
