Addin Effects to your map

Post by baishere »

Hey! I noticed on the map Kashyyk, that there are a whole bunch of Smoke Explosions that are animated 'n stuff. How can I add something like that to my map?

Thanks! :jango:

i think that it is an odf-type file in the assets for the map. If its like Geonosis, then you can manually place dust, random bombings, etc. in your map that show up when you play. If it helps, try opening up the map and looking around for them.

Effects are added through the .fx file. Go to whichever maps effects you want, and find the .fx. Say its Kashyyk. Go to the Kas folder, and find the fx. file. It will be in the world folder. Copy the .fx file to your world folder (The world folder with the odf, msh, effects, sky) and rename it to your map. If your maps 3 letter name is bob, rename the .fx file bob.fx.

Go back to the Kashyyk effects folder and the world folder, and copy the stuff in the effects folder into your effects folder. Munge, and the effects should show up!
