Get rid of Water Gun. No reason to have a 40-damage water-type move and a 95-damage water-type move, neither of which have any additional effects in battle.

Hmmm... I'm having trouble here. I got my self a DSI, but while the main thing it self can connect to our security settings, the ingame one can't... Anyone know what to do?

The game itself only accepts WEP security settings. At least, that's what I read somewhere when I Googled it a while ago.

But that ruins the fun and can cause them to slack off in battle!RogueKnight wrote:Got the game, I'm enjoying it so far, I havent gotten to the first gym leader yet, I'm trying to massivly leverl my pokemon now so I can zoom through the first few gym leaders with no problems.

You know what I find funny in these games? If a gym is too hard, even the first one, you always have the option to train your Pokémon to lvl100!

So if I were to get a new Pokemon game would you guys recommend Heart Gold/Soul Silver or Platinum?

If you are more familiar towards the first 251, go with HG/SS, if you want a new story and more newer Pokemon, go with Platinum. Honestly, I like the Giratina fight more than the Ho-oh and Lugia ones, but that's just my opinion.
Platinum has a few more features, such as the Pokeradar, which allows for more Pokemon not found in the game, and if you get a chain of 40 of the same Pokemon* then you will most likely find a Shiny version of it. It also has daily swarms to add some 'dex pages. HG/SS have re-added the Headbutt trees, also have daily swarms, the best Safari Zone in the history of the series, and shares Platinum's Battle Frontier.
However, most of the future event support will be for HG/SS, including an upcoming Wi-Fi Mew that will only be available in HG/SS for the first time they have it (assuming they follow the same pattern as the Japanese releases, which, so far, they have).
*That's the simple version. There's a few guides out there on how to do it, but I'm not going to type it all here.
Oh, and I might as well post the events that the Japanese games have already had, just so you guys get a heads up on what to expect:

Lol, I fricking hate the Yellow Forest. I've spent days straight putting Pokemon on that thing, getting more than 10,000 steps daily, and I have yet to get a surfing or flying Pikachu. I haven't even gotten one that knows Volt Tackle, but according to Serebii, after 10,000 steps, you have more than a 60% chance of finding one that knows either Surf or Fly. I've only gotten flailers, and I've gotten, like, 12 of them.

My brother has actually got the surfing Pikachu. He got so frustrated with trying to get the Flying one that he just traded with our cousin to get it.Fluffy_the_ic wrote:Lol, I fricking hate the Yellow Forest. Flying Pikachu was created sometime between 1st and 2nd Gen, as seen here: http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/u ... kachu2.jpg.
Unfortunately, they apparently didn't want to bring it back at any point, because in Battle Revolution it just starts levitating and runs down to it's opponent. Surfing Pikachu still has the surfboard though, and Raichu uses its tail as a board.

I almost have all of the gym leaders phone numbers. I also finished the Unown side quest, and somethings that I had been wondering were finally cleared up... well, most things. I also traded in my Rotom from Platinum, and got to change him in the Sliph Co. office building. I'm also starting my EV training for my eventually BF team, that should be fun...

Oh wow. I should have paid attention to the Serebii page more. As it turns out, your chances of getting a Pikachu that knows could get the 4 abnormal moves actually decrease as you get more steps.

Re: Pokemon Heartgold and soul silver
Well I decided to order Heart Gold. Even though I prefer Lugia and Groudon to Ho-oh and Kyogre, I liked Gold's set of exclusive Pokemon more. Plus I never use legendaries anyway. Should be getting it by Friday.

That's because the game pak has a built in clock, which uses a battery. And batteries tend to die after awhile. I believe the Save system relies on the clock for saving, and when its unable to tick, the game will not properly save. To fix, as Fusion has said, you need five dollars and The Ability To Melt Steel. Hope that helps!
ANY way, Era, when you get your R/S Pokémon, do you want to trade it for my? Groudon? I have both, but however, in order to get Rayquaza, the Pokémon need to have originate from SS/HG. So do you want to?
