It looks very authentic. That last shot is particularly stunning.

Re: Tatooine: Outpost
Thanks Era!
Update time.
Right, I've improved the map quite a bit, and have added the beginning of the Jundland Wastes on the edge of the desert, where I've added a couple of command posts. This region has a lot more cover from rocks, which has improved the gameplay markedly. I've also used a lot of Sky's Rock models, and textures from his Huge Model Pack, which are more suited to this map than the rock textures found in the assets. So a big thanks to Sky for those.
The desert area is still open (it wouldn't be a desert if it wasn't, right
) but now I've added more cover at the bases as well, and added a lot of cover and sniper hintnodes around the map, so the AI is working much better to capture and hold CPs.
Lastly I've improved the sandcrawler area by adding more junk, and various droids, some of which might be recognisable, and the Jawas now have the proper ion blaster thanks to CodaRez's awesome model.
This will be the last update for a while, so enjoy the images

It looks cool imo though you should add smaller rocks around the bigger rocks because right now it looks like there is just this big unatural clump of rocks.

Re: Tatooine: Outpost
looks awsome!, may i suggest though some sort of like rock ground texture near the rocks.
first thing that popped in my mind was...its much too rocky, this way is much easier!

Re: Tatooine: Outpost
Thanks everyone!
Edit: Well I removed some of the rocks, and added more in place of the ground texture. I think it looks better.

I've found a good solution, without changing the ground texture, as I've reached the texture limit. It's a really good solution too, and looks a lot more natural. I'll post some more screens once I've done more work on it.maxloef wrote:looks awsome!, may i suggest though some sort of like rock ground texture near the rocks.

Re: Tatooine: Outpost
Thanks for all the kind comments!
It's actually the same as having one clone model with different coloured skins. All I did was copy and rename the rocks .odf and .msh files, and then hex edited the new texture name in the model.Darth_Spiderpig wrote:You hex edited dirt on?![]()

Re: Tatooine: Outpost
I would add a bit more on or make the rocks lighter, like the color of the BF1 tatooine canyon rocks.
