EP3 Felucia

Hello all, this is my first map. EP3 Felucia.

The main map is based off the stock felucia and as close as the moveis as I can get to be.
I enlongated the river, made the back of the map bigger, made the area where aayla is killed, and added another crashed gunship cp. There are currently ten cps. Overall complete percentage; 85% complete. I made the lasers thinner, made it one shot, one kill for clones, and two shots to kill droids. the droid's E-5 carbine fires like a pistol, but it has ammo.

Republic; 96% complete

Note: all rep troopers have a DC-17 pistol and the models for the units are made by DEVISS-REX
327th trooper; DC-15A rifle, DC-17 Pistol, thermal detonators

327th rocketeer; Rocket Launcher, DC-15s carbine, DC-17 Pistol, detpacks

327th sniper; Sniper Rifle, DC-17 Pistol, Recon Droid, Auto turret

327th engineer; Shotgun, DC-17 Pistol, Health\ammo packs

Commander Deviss; DC-15A rifle, DC-15s Carbine, DC-17 Pistol, Thermal detonator

Commander Bly; DC-15A rifle, DC-15s Carbine, DC-17 Pistol, (some sort of detonator, havn't chosen)


CIS; 80% complete

Battle Droid; E-5 carbine and launcher

Droid Assassin; Sniper Rifle, recon droid

Droid Rocketeer; Rocket Launcher, Detpacks

Super Battle Droid; Wrist blaster, heavy wrist blaster, Possibly Rockets

Commander Droid; E-5 carbine, Either deployable cp or orbital barrage, auto turret



Heroes; 50% complete

Aayla secura; Lightsaber, force push, pull, heal, throw, drain, and possibly others

Problably none, unless I learn how to model and make Shu Mai

Hmhm, nice sides.

Is the map anything different from the stock Felucia?
Will you add AT-TEs, AT-APs and Swampspeeders for the Republic, AATs and Homing Spider Walkers for the CIS?
Will the water be changed?
(lol, lots of questions/suggestions there)

I can't say much more, I only see custom side on the stock Felucia.
(Which is not bad for a first map. :P :thumbs: )

Sorry, did I make it unclear? I made it a lot bigger, made a small grassy plain where aayla is shot,
There will be aats, attes, probably ataps, bun NO homing spider droids. they can not walk through the mess of objects.

Looks good, I've become a fan of expanded stock maps and this one seems promising. But a few things caught my eye as things I might change. My Diagnosis.(Just some things I'd do differently, it's your map do what you want.)

Change the one shot kill, as many wll tell you realisim is not always in the best interest of gameplay. I would advise aginst it since there is no second chace to find cover if your're hit from behind.
Change the fact that the GAT isn't making an appearance, my personal request for my favorite vehicle.
Change the fact that droids don't have grenades, sure the never used the in the movies but they should have something to compliment their carbine.
Change the droidekas, more specifically their not being the map; balance is impotant.

That's about all I can see that caught my eye. Very good for a first map. Keep It Up! :thumbs:

I can tell you right now: "realistic" sides are a mistake.

As for the map, I'd like to see some of the stuff in the .sky and .fx files changed, specifically the fog/view distances. I was disappointed with the stock Felucia for one reason: you can't see more than 50 feet.

I am no fan of 1-shot kills, they are bad for gameplay, in my opinion, just my 2 cents. Nice concept otherwise.

1 shot one kill is what made the rise of the empire series and Bantha 55's maps good.

@B1 burt, Thanks, your reveiw was valuable. I may be giving droids a grenade launcher attachment. And It will now be two shots to kill clones, three for droids. If it's easy to die, then you want to run for cover, like popping out from behinda tree once in a while and slicing vehicles instead of standing in front of them shooting, and also makes you want to fix health\ammo droids.

I don't think any of those maps were literally "one-shot-kills," and in any case I would say they were good in spite of their "realism," not because of it.

You're right about that. I remember walking across the desert on Bantha 55's Geonosis and getting shot once by a guy a mile away and dying.

IIRC, it took around four or five shots to die in Bantha's map. The AI probably got a headshot on you.

Yep, 1 shot kill (imo) only works on interior maps with lots of cover eg Bantha's Tantine IV. Exterior maps it just makes gameplay dull and repetitive and with lots of walking around to get shot and die within 20 seconds....

Depends on the weapon, but yes if you mean a basic automatic rifle 3 is the highest you should ever go in bf2.

No more arguing about how many shots it takes to get a kill. In case this arguing confused you, it's going to take three shots to kill a droid, and two for clones.


EDIT: In-game the map is called Felucia, but should it be Felucia: #$@!*&^? Also, should have an order 66 campaign?

EDIT2: I made so both teams are 2 shots to kill, and gave any CIS units with an E-5 carbine a grenade launcher. Also, say hello to commander droid and let me re-introduce Droideka! I also made SBD's wrist blasters fire faster, from a delay of .25 to a shorter delay off .10.

CIS; 80% complete.

I would change the lighting and fx if I were you. Other than that it looks nice :thumbs:

Why a droid (expecially a normal B1) should take more shots than a clone to die? Since you're making a "movie-like" map, perhaps a B2 should but certainly not a B1.

Agreed . Clones are WAY more superior to the B1 droids. So like Delta-1035 said it should take more shots for a clone to die then a B1.
