The preset(s) couldn't be applied to this selection [Solved]

How to create models in XSI and other 3D applications and make them work in Battlefront 1 & 2. Post models, tips for application usage and share anything XSI, 3DMax, SketchUp, etc.

The preset(s) couldn't be applied to this selection [Solved]

Post by Caleb1117 »

Ok, time to help the noob.

I followed Lord Bandu's Tut on texturing in XSI,

it worked fine, but one time when I had hit Alt + 7, went to the edit box, clicked freeze, then I clicked the X at the top of the window...

And acedently closed XSI without exporting or saving or anything.
This was no big deal, because I had a backup version of my model, before I started texturing. (I knew something would go wrong) :P

So I import it, and start the process.
Unique UV, close pop-up, Ctrl + L, get texture, image... then bam:

"The preset(s) could not be applied to this selection."

only option is "ok", I tried messin around, clearing and reimporting, ECT
To no avail.

If you need more discription or anything, just say so.

hit 8 to open the explorer and hit M to see the material browser and then just select all the materials and delete them. your getting that error because there is kinda like this embedded texture on the imported model so just clear the materials and apply new ones and itll be fixed.
