Request of all XSI modelers/Animators: Dual Republic Pistols
I think that everyone at gametoast (not to mention filefront, pcgamemods, etc.) would love it if all the modelers and animators out there, great and small, would pool there efforts to make a new weapon... one that would greatly benifit the modding/playing community...
I would ask, and tho it is not easy, for all the great and small modelers/Animators...to make... dual republic pistols
I know it won't be easy, but I don't know the first thing about Modeling, but I think that if Jabba, L5R, Saturn, Lord Bandu, and all the others worked together, we could have this weapon out by the time BF2 comes out
So, will you try?

I'm sure there are better things to model and animate than just a weapon, it's kinda small and boring, the effect that comes out the end and the resulting devastation is the main thing with that, surely efforts in modeling and animation should be target towards something that would really make a difference, i.e. vehicles, buildings, animated props even characters, check out some of the things Sat V is currently working on (hopefully you've seen the vid), no offence but dual pistols seems kinda weak in comparison.
And try to leave it longer than 10 mins before you bump the topic.

Hey, I am the creator of the ARC: Republic Vanguard mod, and one of my first wants was the dual pistol action...
Unfortunately sources tell me that since we do not have the animation templates for units, we cannot alter the animations... if we cannot alter animations then we cannot mod dual weapons...
This is why why have no dual sided lightsabres and stuff... cause there is only a one handed animation for melee attacks.

Ok I was told by saturn That duel weapons are curently impossible, as the weapons are hard coded and we don't have access to the animations templet. All this information came from Pyc0fred. But that droideka gave me an Idea, you may be on to somthing there fruitymarshmallow.
I'll post my findings. >>> Ok It seams that the droideka is in fact a walker(you have to call for it in the lua) with the same rules that apply to say the at-st, the only diferance is you get to control it as a unit, and dont enter it like any other vehicle. Vehicles can have multiple fire points but weapons can only have one, its hard coded. Somthing to wish for in SW:BF2.

well, I know how to do so
as you said, its coded
the code is the same as in the Xwing - which makes it 'switch' between the 4 lasers
take a look in the .odf
its actually:
NextAimer: "-"
or something
I'm not sure
but as you said, since its a walker - and thereby a vehicle - they added NextAimer to the codes
unless you're actually creating a robot or walker, you can't do it like that - and the difference on the droideka and other solders - except for the walker - is that the droideka have weapons 'built in'
c ya - otherwise, nice theory fruitymarshmallow
