Mod Team Assemble!

Post by Kingpin »

Howdy,

I just thought that it would be pretty cool to get a group of us working together on a few maps, maybe even a whole pack of them :o

Well, I was thinking that we would need the following:
-Someone who can make HD quality maps.
-Someone who is a scripting-wizard.
-Someone who can use XSI to make either/or Player Models and Buildings/Props
-Someone who can make Jedi animations/combos

I am :quotes: pretty good :quotes: at units, and that's what I would do.

I don't really have any specific ideas, I would just like to keep it based around Star Wars. Reply or PM me if you are interested

Since you say you need a "scripting wizard," what kind of crazy things are you thinking about?

Like, you've gotta be pretty creative on those game modes and then after you've got your idea turn it into code.

Well, I was thinking about an Assassin's Creed mode on Naboo, in which the player has to assassinate a target and escape to a region after killing it. Just a thought.

Sounds fun and not too difficult. I wouldn't say you need a wizard for that.

An Assassin's Creed mode on the DMI map would actually be a LOT more fun, methinks. :o

That map is so huge though. But I guess it would be pretty fun now that I think about it...

Well, if Marth wants to get in on it, he could map a custom DMI-esk map, or something like Rome, Acre, etc, Noob does the scripting *since he is a wizard*, and I can make the units. Just a thought :o

For some reason I thought the DMI source was released. And I didn't say I was a wizard at scripting, but if you think so then that's cool. I can do basic stuff but when it comes to complex things people do those for me.hehe like the ping weapon I just assumed that since you needed a wizard you had some crazy ideas. But yeah, most of my recent stuff has been mainly scripting.

Yeah I saw that after I posted. Now that I think about it more, I'm remembering that I downloaded a "data_DMI" folder where you were supposed to put your stuff in. That's probably why I thought the source was released.

Hey Kingpin,
I'd be interested in making the maps you need.

I have a lot of ideas. Which theme do you may prefer:?
-real world places
-star wars Galaxy

And more specific details:?
-interoir
-huge or/and flat maps
-small/middle/large city maps
-open world principle
-high or down maps
..
..

Whatever you think you could manage, but still being fun to play on as well as looking good. I am working on an interior of a spaceship in ONE giant model, kind of like the Death Star, but hopefully cooler. My only preference is more of a Star Wars related map.

I could probably make one if enough people want it. It doesn't sound too hard to make.

Well, I think, to get all of the details to make it perfect-o (i.e. making the guards ONLY hostile once either a civilian, guard, or the target has been killed, setting up the guards to chase the assassin, etc.), it may be a little more complicated.

You would need four groups.
1. Civil: mo weapon, when someone shot they run away.
2. Guards they "catch" the agressors. Everyone who shots. (maybe not groupe 3)
3. Targets and the people who protegt them.
4. The assassin. I thought of an squad for the rc side mod, but i think the ai is too stupid.

There could be different difficulties.
1. The guards will not attack the targets and their guards
2. The targets know you and will ahoot when they see you.
3. The guards know you and will shoot when they see you.
4. Some groups of civil will fight too. Bit with invisble weapon mah, so you don't know who it is.

This were my ideas for the assassination mod for rcm.

I was working on an Ezio Auditore de Florenzi and an Altair unit. I think it would be cool to put a different assassin on each map. For example, Ezio would be on Naboo, as it looks like Florence, and Altair could be on Mos Eisley. Maybe we could also make a Sith one, with a sith hidden blade on Coruscaunt :o
