Star Wars: Battlefront III: Relive the Battles

Little is known about the upcoming release of Star Wars: Battlefront III, but IGN insiders have sources hidden about! According to our inside man, Free Radical, the developers of BF3, will include a ‘Relive the Battles’ mode, which will include a full reproduction of many of the ground based battles as well as many space based battles from the Star Wars saga. These battles are said to be quite heavy in the details, especially the space-based maps, which will include similar modes of play analogous to last years’ Battlefront II, but with greater ship interior detail, more fighters and capital ship control. The Battle of Yavin, Battle of Endor and Battle of Hoth are said to be among them.

Our Free Radical mole has also told us to expect to need a DirectX 10 capable video card, at least 2MB of RAM and a kickin’ processor.


I hope all of xwingguys work is not in vain. Looks like this map will be included in BF3!

To be honest, I wouldn't be surpised if what you've just typed up/copied & pasted is a load of rubbish. Battlefront III has not been confirmed, and this article can't be found anywhere on IGN.com.

BF3 is just in the rumor mill and personally I will not believe it until it is confirmed. People just say this kind of stuff so you will subscribe to IGN . But if that is true (which it probably isn't ) I would be dissapointed to see Xwing's work be wasted...

Why the [Inka Kola] would they ditch Pandemic, a company that wanted to make this game successful, and find a UK company?

Did Pandemic get rip-off? Meaning that they still are part of LA but won't contribute SW games due to

Rush development? Little understand of the Star Wars universe? Or both?

This is the ONLY site that will have a real announcement of BFIII. Until I see it there, I'm not going to believe anything.

Off-Topic: First off, I think mentioning the question of whether or not xwingguys work is in vain was a bit overstepping of common courteousy, if not outright rude. He's put a lot of work into this, and just because theres a chance of SWBFIII comin out, doesn't mean its usefullness is on the line.

Moreover, I must say that I really am getting closer and closer to believeing the there will be a SWBFIII, as the chances are, in light of the recent contract with LA and the UK guys, there will be a Star Wars game comin out. Perhaps LA doesn't wanna risk throwing off a good idea, and get a feel for their new partners, and see if they can handle a series that either way will yield little loss to LA.

But, as has been announced througouht the forums numerous times, no posts regarding SWBFIII shall be made unless we get 100% confirmed evidence of its development, specifically from Lucas Art's official site (though I'm sure there will be circumstances under which the resource will be ignored - a direct quote's relevance is not affected by where it is announced).
