I think the limit is eight? Eight or nine is the limit your looking at.

Re: is there a limit?
man... oh well lets see 8 units would mean i could add only like 3 to the amount normally given... that's not great news but i`m sure i could find a way to fit that in (i was thinking of making a map where rebels and empire wow what a treaty and droids on the side of clones (wow peace!)
the mission would be that the rebels and empire found a lone clone commando and a droid the cis and the republic needs to team together in order to have any hope
so basically its a civil war era v.s. the clone wars era!

Nine is the max number of units in a team spawn list.

Re: is there a limit?
yea 9 is the limit but you can do more than enough with 9 like honestly 9 is maybe too many i only use a max of 8 in my levels and also if you really wanted more you can add the hero and make him a unit

Re: is there a limit?
Actually, the physical limit is higher, isn't it? The problem is that if you add too many units, some of their selection tabs would be off-screen; the player could never play as them, but the ai could.....right?

Edit the UI? Decrease the size of each type's button?Fiodis wrote:Actually, the physical limit is higher, isn't it? The problem is that if you add too many units, some of their selection tabs would be off-screen; the player could never play as them, but the ai could.....right?
Or is there no way to do that?

Re: is there a limit?
The game itself crashes at that point and I don't think the crash comes from the scripts (meaning we can't stop it).Fiodis wrote:...if you add too many units, some of their selection tabs would be off-screen...
There is a topic on SWBF2's limitations and the amount of units per team is talked about in that topic.

Re: is there a limit?
Yeah, I had seen taht while investigating the grappling hook....I thought it was only due to the reasons stated above, though....
Maybe....is it possible to have 2 local teams? Then one could have a CW era where you play as Republic vs. Empire and the CIS and Rebels are locals that are allied to the Reps and Empire, respectivley. Then have a GCW mode where it's the same as before, only the playable teams are CIS vs. Rebels and the locals are the Reps and the Empire, with the same allegiances as before.
Would that work? You'd have 2 separate modes, but at least this way you have the four eras in one map.

Re: is there a limit?
What you could possibly do is make your teams consist of 4 Rebel units 4 IMP units and the same for CIS and REP so you choose the 4 for each you would
want to have the human to be able to play and make two local teams for each side out of the rest of the units.
Now other things/problems you may run into is sounds as normally in a CW map you reference the CW sounds so the GCW units may not get things right like taunts, we losing etc so depending how it is done you may have a REP unit sounding like a robot but that is a minor thing. More major is you may lose some weapon sounds.
