Halo Wars and other Halo goodies announced

Bungie Studios is teaming up with Ensemble Studios, makers of Age Of Empires, to create an RTS for the Xbox 360 system. Also, Peter Jackson has formed Wingnut Interactive, and his first game will tie into the Halo storyline. Very exciting news!

Wow, Halo Wars looks sweet! I never expected anything like it. I hope it will come out for PC too, i'm not getting a 360 anytime soon.

Arg! I read further and it says that this game is Xbox 360 only. Guess I won't be able to buy it

By looking at the pictures, this looks like this might be an evolution game. I mean like you start out before the SPARTAIN-02 project, and research and develop the MJOLNIR armour and fight the covenant. Looks awesome! This is a game I will keep on my watch list!

Spartan group Omega? I've read the books and by the time of Halo 2 I can think of 5 spartans that were still alive (John, Will, Fred, Linda and possibly Kelly if anyone has read 'em). Yet there are at least 5 spartans there and they're only one group. I guess this takes place sometime after Halo 3. Looks great though. A shame it's only for Xbox 360; RTS games belong to the PC. Anybody get the feeling that it'll come to PC a year after it's release on the Xbox 360 like Halo 1?

With the guys that made Halo, one of the best FPS ever, and the guys that made Age of Empires, one of the best RTS ever, THIS GAME WILL OWN YOU!

Anyhow, I actually think there's a 6th SPARTAN alive...I lost my books, though, so I can't look it up...but I'm pretty sure there's another girl...I think...Grace, maybe?

THis is looking pretty interesting. I'd like to see ingame vids. Wait is this before or after Halo 3? I'm thinking before but i can be wrong.
Also RTS games sound pretty good on the Wii also. But some games should stay on the PC.

Grace was killed by a brute's grenade launcher when Spartan 117 and co were disabling the Unyielding Hierophant. John activated her self-destruct feature in her suit and she took down a bundle of elites, jackals and grunts.

Ah, that explains it. Before the fall of Reach (which took place right before Halo 1) there were around 30-40 Spartans still alive.

yes this takes place before Halo1 and the Armor they are wearing is Probably the first "mark" (type) of there MJOLNIR combat Armor, (at that point it did not have shielding) but the UNSC did not have the Battle rifle at that time, it was (among other weapons and armor types) being tested later on ( if you have read the Halo books you will know what i mean).

Yes the armor that the group of Spartans seems to be the Mark IV, it would also explain the enlarged shoulder plate, and different Helmet. The Mark IV did not have shields and the diffrences between the Mark IV and the V are probably due too just graphical enhancement (Like the Pillar of Autumn from Halo and Halo2).

Just because we have not seen the BR (until Halo 2) doesn't mean it didn't exist, and it never said the BR was being tested. If anything the BR would have to be in production for a while, considering the wide distrobution of the gun (and the SMG for that matter) in Halo 2.

The Pillar went 'splodey with the rest of Halo. The ship in Halo 2 is In Amber Clad, a totally different model. Although I do agree with you, the armor is probably just part of the games art direction.

^ I'm Talking about the first Cutscene wih the Arbitar on trial, they show the Pillar of Autumn fleeing Reach. This ship had the same shape but was still a very drasticly diffrent ship. Most likely because of Halo 2's art style. In Amber Clad is completely different.

However, that being said, it still looks like a great game. It is interesting to see Bungie's pride and joy (not to mentions Microsoft too) being handed off to other developers. The effects of this have yet to be seen ofcourse.

I say possibly Kelly 'coz she was taken by Dr. Halsey for some obscure reason that I never managed to figure out, LoL.

Linda is the expert sniper, in the most recent book (I think it was called First Strike, saying how they returned to Earth from Halo) she took down four banshees or so with four sniper shots. I would so envy her if she existed, LOL.
