Is there a way to hex edit the number of soldiers on the battlefeild on the shipped maps?

Do you mean the reinforcement number ? (Red and green numbers appearing on the top of the screen)

I know you must hex-edit "mission.lvl" and look for the name of the map where you want to change units number... (As in the tutorial theguarder gave us...)
Once your hex-editor has found a result, make a new search from this point (And not from the beginning of the file) with the name of the units as keywords. (For example, "all_inf_vanguard" for Rebel Vanguard, "cis_inf_droideka" for the Destroyer Droid, etc...)
But after, I've not found any track of those units' number...
