Making a spiral stair case

How would i create a spiral stair case for my building or a curved one. (note its a small building)

... What? Are you asking for hints? What I would do is center the point around which you rotate in the middle and duplicate the different steps in the stairs and rotate them around the midpoint, then move every step up.

Ya just like that. But is it any different for XSI?

yeah, of course in xsi you have to do a small dance in front of your pc before you rotate every step
(but better do it in front of the screen so that XSI can see you better)

I would suggest making a spiral ramp instead.

heh. Its so simple. I've always wondered about spiral stairways and i never thought of that..

Just a quick word of warning on this -- AI cannot "see" in three dimensions, so they would not be able to use a spiral staircase. Although AI can aim in any direction, they get confused when you have one path on top of another (which would be necessary here). Just thought I'd point that out in case it would be an issue later.

Do i need to make a indivisible ramp over stairs if i did regular stairs for it to work?
