Sorry didn't see that model before. looks really nice!!! same goes for all of the previous weapons I've seen :yes: ...

Well onto my own models, here is a bit of a step up in quality from my Garand. Unfortunantly, it's a bit of a step up when it comes to tri's as well :wink: .

Springfield M1903 sniper rifle.

feedback always welcome. And if you can't see in the picture, it's sitting at 3280 tri's...a bit high, but it'll get ingame alright. And there probably won't be a whole lot of these ingame at any given time, so it won't make too much of a difference on performance...

The only areas on the model I'm worried about are the tip of the barrel and the bolt, but if you triangulate them in XSI I'm sure they'll be fine.
Awesome work man, almost makes me want to work for the World War II Project.

@ryukaji
Hey, it's a start, that's how my first ak47 model looked :P
You've two dimensions basically done, height and length.
Now you've got to add the third dimension, width.
Everything in there looks about the same width to me, excluding the barrel.
Try chamfering some edges, moving vertices to match the curvature of a real AK47, and you've got something as good as, if not better than mine. :wink:

there have been disputes in the past and just to clear things up for everyone, you can post a picture like this showing all the roots and different objects. and thats a pretty nice AK-47 :)

Looks awsome and I can't wait for the texture. :thumbs: However in the ww2 thread, people are saying we really need to get these in-game. And fast. :?

Yes, I take a picture, make the model traced off it, then texture to the base picture so it fits near perfect.

Looking back at my model.. I'm missing a few crucial details that are needed to fulfill the 'true' Assault Cannon reference. Well, time for me to get back to work. ^_^

I can't texture my stuff worth a crap, nor do I know how to get it into game, so I'm going to just keep modeling it until it is true to the references I am going by. At least, as much as I can. ^_^

By the way, nice models peeps. Keep it up. Of course I don't have any suggestions as everybody here models better than I can. Some of them are even new to Gametoast and are dishing out much better models than I can ever in my lifetime. :lol:

Try something called a Chamfer tool (or fillet).
