Treehouse - Remake of the Crysis Wars map

Post by _BR3AK3R_ »

I'm a big Crysis fan and i've also made some maps for swbf2 so far but i haven't played Battlefront for a long time and I thought "Wouldn't it be cool to remake a map of Crysis?". Now I'm working on building the objects and also reskinning the rifleman to a Crysis-like soldier ... I try to recreate the suit modes as well but I'm not that good in odf-editing :(
Today i wanna show some of the objects I have so far:

well the treehouse certainly looks fantastic, looks really fun. i have to say the ground below looks slightly boring perhaps, maybe give it some objects, trees? after all it is a treehouse. also change the lighting, and i can't see whether you are using the default sky in the pics. the treehouse looks really good though :D

Thanks! :D
Yes .. the whole ground will be covered with trees when its done but to edit the treehouse its better to have no trees in view
The lighting and the sky are from Mos Eisley. Propably I'll make it set at night but battlefronts lighting effects aren't that good so i think day time is better...
I'll make a poll to see what the community wants^^

Wow, that's really cool. But will the soldier only be the one who's reskinned or will there be more custom units?

Btw, the map looks awesome.

So far I like it, this has the look of an old-school quality map.

I suggest placing some explosive barrels in random locations.

Thank you for your replies!
I'll just make one reskinned unit but there will be different variations of the trooper(different weapons).I do this because in crysis all troopers look the same, too.
For sure i'll make two different skins for every team.
Here some pics of the USA-version:

PS: The map in the background is my Hoth Underground map.

I agree with the above statements.

You could use the random sky system, that way you would have both a daytime and a nighttime version.

Those skins are too good to be true. They're just perfect!

And the map itself looks great. Imo, the best beginner's map ever. (you are a beginner, right?)

Yeah, this map has a lot of potential. So far the treehouse part of the map is good And once you add your trees and spruce up the background, it will be awesome!

 Crysis-based map! I luvvs the idea! You need proof? Check mah avy. Maybe because I can't play crysis anymore because I uses too much RAM and I had the same idea, but shhh....

Also, I think that it might be a good idea to use a different model for the nanosuit, such as Han Solo or Luke. That way, you don't have a malformed head* or the Jedi robe skirt thing.

*A malformed head just might work if you're making Psycho, though.

Wow, just... wow (in a good way). I have always been terrible at skinning and those skins are MAGNIFICENT!!! Probably one of the best skins I've seen.

I agree that you should use the random setting to get day and night for that map. Has lots of potential. :faint:

While I certainly agree that the skin looks intimidating, I wouldn't play as it. The back, due to the default models symmetricity, looks odd. I would suggest using the asymmetrical skin version of the stormtrooper, sorry I don't have a link.

Wow on those skins man, the look natural, and Extremely Professional. I've never played "Crysis" the game always looked good to me; I just watched videos of exploding barrel pyramids. And this map looks great, very well done.(All beginners take note that he made other maps before this one.) My Diagnosis(Just what I think would make the map better)

Add trees, but I saw what you said.
Add explosions, there are some excelent exploding barrel assets here. And from what I've seen of "Crysis" destroying stuff is big, so add some destructable objects here and there.
Add the random skydomes, it isn't hard to set up and everyone's happy in the end.
Add some cool weapons, that way it makes the map unique. And I know you'll make it accurate to the game.

I can't say much more, as I said before I never played "Crysis." But the map looks good, keep it up! :D
