And its not like you can abuse the date you arrived, its static, you can't make yourself older then you are.

Still, you have only provided One example where someone lorded his post count over yours, not enough to remove it for that reason alone.

But I do think we should add a reputation system.
Here's how it's set up at The Hive Workshop, a Warcraft 3 modding site that I frequent

It works very nicely at The Hive.
Here at GT would promote helpfulness and would help to kill the "spam to make myself look important" mentality.
It would also make for better contests where the winner gets +Rep.

* All users may participate in the vBulletin reputation award system.
* Users must possess ten reputation points in order to add positive reputation points to others.
* Users may not add reputation awards or comments to their own profiles.
* A list of the reputation awards users have received is maintained in public profile pages.
o The 30 most recent awards are displayed.
* Award comments will be displayed to users only if the viewing user has permission to view the forum in which the specific reputation was awarded.
* Only administrators, forum moderators and respected users may impose negative reputation penalties.
* A system is in development to allow reputation awards in the resource sections.
* The reputation system may not be used in the chat room.

* Adding to a user's reputation is accomplished by:

2. Enter a comment in the pop-up window. vBulletin codes are accepted.
