OK this map is really well done but I did find bugs :wink:

1.CP0 I fell through the ground when I spawned as a dark trooper phase III
2. Game sometimes crashes
3. Mandolorians throw their wrist rockets
4.bunker untextured

I think that's it and are you going to add a loading screen cuz I got a nice pic for one

3 issues with that picture:

There is a medical droid in it.
There is a bacta tank in it.
It's too close to the trooper.

I particularly don't like gameplay objects in a picture. (droids, ammo, health, HUD)

I think it would be better if there was a dead Consortium trooper on an ice ramp with an ice pillar in front.
You could actually put several pictures for the load screen. The other on some boxes, the other outside.

I'll post some screenies in a sec...

Issues:
Bacara's blaster doesn't have any sound in the CW era;
No Load Screen, I think EGG_GUTS pic woul work;
Snow textures are missing, the outside objects are black;
Reinforcements need to be raised... I won the battle in like two minutes :P ;
and finally the chaingun in the GCW has no sound.

look at the tri droids missiles. They shoot missiles with no mesh.

I fixed the missing textures on the bunker and tunnel entrances. There are still a few issues with the bunker (I'll probably be posting a topic about it in the modding forum sometime soon) but it's better.

As far as the loading screens go, that's what I need the screenshots for. I'll be putting some loading screens in when I get a few really good screenshots. That one you have there EGG_GUTS is pretty good. I want to wait until I have seven or eight good ones, though, before I decide which ones to use as loading screens. :D

Oh, and that's a good idea, Tuskenjedi. When I get the chance, I'll take a look at those.

Thank you guys SO MUCH for your help and kind comments--It's really refreshing to get the point of view of somebody other than myself!

Yeah, sorry about me not testing, Filefront is giving me 13kbps and under so I can't get it. I see you've gotten help now, so I don't feel that bad

No problem. If you could still get it sometime and take a look at it, that would be great, but if time--or filefront--don't allow for that, I completely understand. :)

I am just going to post my BETA test log now, since I can't find the free camera mode.

Here it is:
Polus: Hidden Cavern

BETA Test Log:

-Download took about 1 hour.

BUGS
----------------
+General:
-The textures on the bunker and the entrance to the cave are black.
-In some areas textures and colors of projectiles, buffs, shields disappear.
-Command Posts disappear behind some ice.
-Ammo canisters and bacta canisters occasionly appear in ice.
- Some spawn paths are in the ground, so the player occasionly appears underground and falls.
-Some of the snow near the bunker can be lowered so it doesn't go into the floor of the bunker.
-Bulldog RLR (originally) brightens character's textures then kills them.
-In some areas the left rockets on jet packs disappear.
-The camera occasionly goes into the ice walls.

+AI:
-Time bomb characters place bombs in halls with no enemies and end up TK'ing each other.
-AI jumps off of the top of elevated ice areas to the lower section.
-AI gets stuck at the walls at the side of ramps without climbing up them.

+Characters (by side):
+Empire:
-Thermal Detonator for imperial side blow up and kills everyone within proximity before it is thrown far enough.

+Consortium:
-The Defiler can't drop his auto-turret.
-The Ewok does not completely explode. There's just an explosion and he dies. He should disappear within the explosion.

+Mandalorians:
-The rocketeers arms and hands are straight in the air when he flies.
-The soldiers throw when they launch thier wrist-rockets.
-The flames on Spar's jet pack don't appear.
-The icon for the wrist rocket does not appear.

+Jedi:
-Their lightsabers disappear in some areas.

SOUND
--------------------------
+Hero sound issues:
-Sounds needed for IG-88, the commanders, and the new heroes (next version of conversion pack needs them)
-No hero sounds for the regular ones, too.
-No announcers, I beleive.

+Consortium sound issues:
-Gungan speaks english. He should speak like Jar-Jar Binks.
-The announcer is the rebellion side one.
-No Droideka sounds: Roll, fold, unfold, shield on and off, walk sounds, no to low volume shoot sounds.

+Empire
-An imperial once yelled, "Tusken Raider!". This can be fixed by deleteing some VO sounds in the soldiers odf.
-Admiral Thrawn has no Detpack throw sound.

+Republic
-I didn't notice a Republic announcer.
-Commander Bacara's rifle has no to low sound.

+Mandolorians
-CIS announcer needs to be changed.
-Spar is treated like Fett. Enemies call him Jango Fett and he speaks like Jango Fett.
-EE-3 has no to low volume sound.

+Commanders
-Appo's DN bolt caster has no sound.
-Thire's chaingun has no sound.


TIPS -Some may be considered bugs.

-Increase Phase III Dark Trooper Health
-Change smoke textures to ice.
-Change IG-88's weapon.
-Add a no walk zone to the top of the mountain so players don't climb it.
-One of the character's Pistol is marked as a rifle or the model is a pistol instead of a rifle. Change it.
-Remove Cody's Jet Pack.
-Reskin Commander Appo. I don't like the standard 501st skin on him.
-Some of the ice hallways don't blend together perfectly.
-Add a large ice room.
-Make Dark Trooper Phase II an actual droid.
-Give IG-88 a radiation buff and a radiation launcher.
-Delete Ewok. I don't like cute, little ewoks being detonated and I didn't even like in EAW.
-If you keep the Ewok make his explosives pack continue to his chest.


I like the idea of putting Empire at War: Forces of Corruption in a Battlefront II map.
It allows you to play 1st/3rd person with some strategy game characters.
I also like the idea of a cave map. It must have been hard putting those caves together.
Other than the sound issues and bugs this map is pretty well-made. Nice job!

Spar looks exactly like boba fett just with new armour....

Hmmm... I downloaded the file and tried to use it, but it doesn't seem to be any different from the Jango msh (It still has the jetpack.) Is there something special I have to do to make the jetpack go away?
My bad, I didn't explain proparly :P
It doesn't actually remove the jetpack, Tean just edited the flags to make it accept transparent skins :P So you'll need to use the cis_inf_jangofett_jetpack.tga that came with Tean's file for it to work, and then he'll have no jetpack.

He's actually supposed to look just like Boba Fett--if you check his wookieepedia article, he wears the same color armor as Boba. He's even killed by Ailyn Vel because she thinks he's Boba.

Thank you SO MUCH! That's excellent--exactly what I need.

Some of that I can't change (like, I can't make any changes to any of the things from the conversion pack) and some of it I won't change (I like the Ewok. :P ) but it's great to get some good, solid opinions on the map! I'll do my best to knock out all of the technical issues on that list over the next couple of weeks! :D

Now all I need are some loading screens... *hint* *hint* :lol:

Ewoks are awsome, cute creatures! Why would you want to kill them? It's not cool detonating Ewoks! :cry: Remove them!

That's exactly why it's fun... :twisted:

Whether they're fun to detonate or not, they're a pretty memorable part of FOC, and I want to give the distinct FOC feel to this map. It just wouldn't be the same without them. ;)

I hope to play as the Galactic Marines, and you just made my dream come true. And for H.A. don't you think that all those Commanders againts all those Jedi might be abit one sided....they use saber throw too much and the commanders will get caught easily.

I'm still working out the balancing issues, but I've given the commanders really strong guns and a little bit of a health increase. So far, I think the Jedi do still have a slight advantage, but I've won several times as the commanders (with enemies on elite.)
