The Clone Wars lead up to the formation of the Empire and Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Civil War. I think the show is better off showing us how some of the changes occurred, even if clones don't take a major role in every episode. The Senate episodes in particular may lack clone action, but they can still be interesting and help understand what is going on behind the scenes of the war. The war wasn't about clones shooting droids anyway, it was about preparing the galaxy for an Empire. Clones were just a means to the end. Clones can offer good action and character stories, but other characters are just as important.
I don't think Boba appears in this season.

I guess your right, but I think they could do something better. I wonder if we're gonna see Durge from the miniseries.
off topic: Does anyone know if there is going to be a Force Unleased 3?

The former is unlikely. The latter will never happen: TFUIII was apparently cancelled and LucasArts are currently engaged in 1313 and their other mystery project (First Assault).

I wouldn't want to see Durge from the mini-series. Even considering the whole show, like TFU, was meant from the start to be ridiculously over the top, he was too much, and I dislike immortal characters/species.

I was just wondering is all. I don't really care if he is ever in TCW, but I would like to see Fordo.

Agreed.
But I'd still love to see Kota as he was in the Clone Wars.

Seeing Kota would be interesting.
also I like immortal villians, but not immortal heros, like superman. These characters give a challenge to the goodguys, and a better chance of losing. When heros win everything it gets boring. :maulsaber:

So it turns out that having them on Saturday morning is a horrible time for my dad (and by association, me). My dad can't watch them that early often, has other things to do. And I'm unwilling to watch them without him.
Anyway. My dad and I just sat down and watch the first 4 episodes of Season 5. We'd seen the first, but liked it enough to see it again. Onderon is great, we really liked it. We loved the power generator exploding, visuals and sound design. And the old Roman aesthetics and names for Onderon is cool.
As for Durge, I don't think so.
I completely agree with Kinetos about the cloneless episodes and senate episodes. It's a lot better than every episode being about clones and the frontlines. We'll get plenty of those overall as it is.
And I'll say it again, I've love to see a young Rahm Kota. Which is why he is in my TCW mod (shameless plugin). Sadly I don't see them doing it.

So is this gonna override the 2004/2005 Clone Wars miniseries' previously established Ilum story? Or does Yoda just make frequent trips to Ilum?

Relatively off-topic:
Heh, that sorta looks like it's out of a PS2 game like Kingdom Hearts or Spyro lolz...except there isn't any terrifying aliasing anywhere so it's all good.

Ilum is the place most Jedi go for lightsaber crystals, so as a trainer, it would make sense for him to make frequent trips there to guide padawans.

I always thought it was the job of the Padawan's masters to take them to Ilum. It's what Qui-Gon did for Obi-Wan, what Obi-Wan did for Anakin, and if I remember right, Yoda was only present at Ilum during the 22 BBY "Battle of Ilum" because Luminara had taken Barriss there and they sent a distress signal out.

If a Yoda visits a planet and no one is around, does he make a sound? Point being, we only know of one instance of him visiting. There is no evidence to say the only time during the Clone Wars was during the Battle of Ilum.
There are several simple logical reasons he could be taking those Padawans there himself. One easy one is that most of the adult Jedi are off fighting the war, leaving fewer to train the Younglings (which it looked like these were Younglings, not Padawans).

I agree with Wulf's point, if we really need an explanation, we can just say that all the 'ordinary' Jedi Knights/Masters are away fighting the war.
Taking a step or two back, I really enjoyed this weekend's episode, and the Onderon arc as a whole. The Umbara arc from last season is still my favorite arc from the series as a whole, but the Onderon episodes had a lot of great things going on - art design, camera movement (panning up from street level and around to the inside of the castle in one episode), the introduction of the gunships, character development, and the way the writers took modern world events and transplanted them into the Star Wars universe in a tasteful way. The story was definitely more black-and-white than things are in the real world, but it did have more gray area than the typical Star Wars stories do.

I thought George Lucas didn't want any more Wookiee Jedi in the EU.

Maybe Lucas has been deposed from his throne.
