Announcment: New Vehicle Pack

'Figured I'd release the updates I've done on some vehicles. Unless it says so, they're already done, so this isn't a wish list, but a done list.


Updated Republic LAAT Gunship
Holds 7 men! --The game only shows 5 positions, but you can switch through all 7.

Currently there are the following postions, I might add more.

Pilot
Co-Pilot
Left Gunner
Right Gunner
Passenger 1

NEW SLOTS:
Rear Gunner (removed from release due to backwards shooting)
Passenger 2 (tweaking views, but works)
Passenger 3 (tweaking views, but works)


Updated Naboo Gian Speeder
NEW SLOTS:
Passenger 1
Passenger 2

Flash Speeder *NEW*
Pilot (twin cannons)
Passenger
Main Gunner (top turret)

Modified XP-34 Landspeeder
-Increased speed
-Hidden twin blaster cannons
-Pilot
-Passenger

Modified STAP
-Incresed speed to be more like the movies -- ST should not stand for 'Slow Turtle'

Imperial Troop Transport
-Came with game (imp_fly_trooptrans)
-only holds one -hope to add at least one more
-no weaponry -hope to activate cannon underneath cockpit
-no engine glow -dunno how to do this, but if I can . . .



Other vehicles will be added as I get time. Essentially this will be an 'all-in-one' sides folder so that all vehicles can be added very easily. I need to add the cloud car and others in order to finish up.

Sounds great, espeically the gunship... I always thought they didn't hold enough people. And the poor rear gun... even though originally planned too, it never got any screen time in any of the movies or the games... though it's rendered in all.

I Like it all!!! GIMME!!! I prefer you to not make the guns on the wings of the gunship contoled by people though, it's supposed to be controled by the co pilot, if you see the movie closely, no one is in those ones

All those tweaked vehicles seem to be (very) promising... And I appreciate all projects aiming to improve SWBF existing stuffs... :wink:

I'm gonna PM Saturn to see if he'll allow his TIE Interceptor to be in the pack. That way it'll be one side folder for all addons, and you just delete what you don't use.

wow LAAT would be awesome but i didnt know it was possible to get more then 5 people in one vehicle but sounds sweet

Yeah, it had 2 more passenger hardpoints and I just looked around and found the firepoint for the rear gun.

Has that "fire-point" already shipped with the Republic Gunship ? :? (Or have you manually placed it ?...)

the oasis map (i dunno who made it) has a transport with all fo that working... (except the glow... that still didnt work)

Yeah, but it's basically 'hacked'. It's just firing straight from the middle of the ship. But hey, if I can't figure it out, I'll make a similar odf.

i wonder if it would be possable to get the other guns working for that ship?... i noticed a gun in the back and i KNOW that there are forward firing guns on either side of the cockpit on the main fusilage if only pandemic though to make the game REALY realistic and ad Ion cannon effects... then we could have a real awesome ship on our hands... :)

Well, I did figure out how to do the glow FX, though it will take some time as I'm quite busy. I'll probably do pilot/co-pilot/2-3 passengers on the Imperial Troop Transport. I'll also make sure that it's available for the rebels, too -- like the speederbike.

The Falcon may well be added to the list. I need to check the MSH to see if it has hardpoints for the engine glow, or at least a dummyroot. Then we can get it working.

THAT'S GOOD SHEET.
You released the gunship just in time for my map too. Bwahah(I was planning to use a lot of gunships and yours sound good for the job).

Yeah, wish I could've got that back turret to work though... meh -- maybe someday. I need to get the other vehicles I have done released.
