That's to do with an error on the mapper's side: For some reason, many mod maps force you to change Terrain Detail to 'Low' or it'll display that weird shadow.

In both cases, I'd try to upgrade my current video card...

(It could be useful in the near future...)

I´ve got a problem with my Geforce FX5600 Ultra in the BETA Demo of SWBF 2. When I activate Anti-Alaising and join a match I get a strange colour mistake: I can still see the normal class select screen but it is coloured red, green and blue. But this mistake didn´t exist before I installed the new 81.85 driver (international) for Win XP.
Does anybody have the same problem and can give me a tip what to do? (except uninstalling the drivers)

Maybe you should check the settings of your driver in the
ForceWare configuration panel ?

(Or simply try to reinstall
the previous version of your
nVidia drivers...)

Hm. I found out that this exists only with Anti-Alaising lower than 4x.
But I dont want to reinstall an older driver because the new is (except of this problem) quite qood.

If you do not want to re-install the previous version of the
ForceWare drivers, then you should probably wait for the next release... (But you should wait a long time...

)

Yes, I fear there is no alternative. For luck Battlefront and the beta of SWBF2 work quite well with anti-alaisig 4x. So I think I can live with it.

As you said, Anti-aliasing isn't that crucial... But once the further version of the
ForceWare drivers will be out, please warn us if your problem remains...

No, it´s final but not yet WHQL-certified. But it´ll be in the next three days, I guess.

I don't think the WHQL certificate will change something to your problem... But you should probably try the BETA drivers available on nZone...
