Looks cool. Can't wait!

I like the droideka's white shield.

But why are those pics so blurry?

I have blur settings very high, I am making the map look literally hot, because I am making a heat wave effect.... And about the shield, when you are in the clouds of dust it blends in and you cannot see it unless you shoot it.....

I installed the file, and extracted it to my Addon folder in the SWBF2 file, but I can't find the map when I launch the game.

P.S. Your file isn't the only one who won't work, a lot of the ones I download don't. :?

Sorry this is so offtopic, but how exactly do you get blur ingame?

You add it in your fx file....doesn't everyone know how to mess with the fx folder...

to anakin609, are you extracting with winace, wnzip doesn't work properly....

Hahah. Guess not...

I knew there was a way to get the sun to be bright and stuff - I had done it on an old map of mine and was trying to do it now.

Thanks!

A quick question while I'm downloading this, what were your specs for those of you that this was laggy? I just want to know if I should turn my settings down before playing.

Ugh. Those screenies...
I really don't like it when people use those spires a bunch.
Try doing more with the terrain height, like hills, and less spires.
Or try tilting more of them. The problem is that they look awfully 'mass-produced'
And the blur, well, you might have it up a bit tooooooo high....

Actually, upon playing my own map with the blur like that, it does a very good job of recreating the heat. So give it a chance.

Also, the blur would help your computer performance more than hurt it, so you shouldn't need to turn your settings down.

And about the spire replication, try skinning it a bit. Maybe dropping the saturation and giving it a more brown color, just stuff like that. You'd need to rename copies of the models to call for new textures, but it should work..

Yes I will take that in for consideration, and about the lag, there is none, but my new effect IS lagging, which really sucks.... And I really haven't shown anything particular, I've done a bit more since those pics were taken.... I am planning on making high res skins for everything, but sorry Linus I'm not sure what kind of skins to make so they *might* be default but higher res.....

Well, I downloading WinAce and used it to extract the files into my Addon folder, but it still doesn't show up on my list of maps :(
Is there anything else I'm doing wrong? It might be that my computer doesn't like files it doesn't know the author of to be used.

Uhh. because all it did was extract the installer for the actual map. Go into your addon folder, and then RDD, click the installer and point it to your /AddOn/RDD folder. :)
