Elmo, I really think you should use ash instead of snow on your map. But aside from this, your map is great! And it's just your second map! Nice work.

@Yock: I think the snow looks a lot more realistic. The ash just sin't abundant enough and just doesn't give the right effect. Besides, ash can be white :)

Aaah, not again. We've had this discussion(that spanned at least 4 pages) some pages ago, and I don't even want to think about ash or snow again.
So please, don't let this become a new discussion.

@Thire: So Elmo has chosen to have a DC-15 rifle for Bacara? Oh, when it's like that, I just gotta ask:
Why did you do so, Elmo? In the movie, there was only a carbine, and somebody of Bacara's rank should have access to other nice toys (like an improved recon droid), but no ordinary DC-15 rifle for him. There're already enough of them in the hands of the "ordinary" clones.

According to wiki theres a DC-15 elite carbine. This makes sense, commanders most likley carried the better version of the DC-15 carbine.

"In addition to the standard model, there was also an "elite" version, an advanced model issued only to the best of the infantry ranks. It was more powerful, more accurate, and more damaging than the standard version."

Those "elite" weapons are not actually in existence. Wookieepedia is the correct source (which still has many falsities), Wikipedia is completely inaccurate about SW.

The commander classes carried everything the same as their subordinates, except a little extra ammo and a pair of electrobinoculars. Commander Bacara used both the DC-15A Blaster Rifle and the DC-15S Blaster Carbine, as Elmo has it here.

well then, where do you get your 100% always acurate information Majin? you have to have some feasable resource, unless you just make all your statistics up.

Well, many books, the movies, Wookieepedia (although it is to be trusted with extreme caution - many things are false or twisted).

Also, just experience with SW stuff and being a SW geek.

:P

Bad news guys.

Elmo just told me over Xfire that the map is now crashing due to an edited side. He was trying to edit the effect and tga (I think) for the CIS SBD's wrist rockets, to make them a little silvery. Now whenever you try to play normal conquest and CTF the map crashes after it finishes loading. [when you go to pick th e side it crashes]

Elmo thinks that it is an error that is caused by a faulty tga. He thinks that his photo editing program causes it, when it overwrites a tga, to not have the right color specifications or something. I don't know exactly what, but it's the same thing that I get. (curse you paint shop "pro"!!!)

So anyways the release for the beta is going to be severely delayed. (not by months, think a few weeks) He knows what to fix, but he's having some time constraints atm. He'll get to it as soon as he can...but until then he can't do much modding.

Elmo asked me to tell you this. He's kinda mad about this right now so he didn't feel like going into the details all over again. (seriously, you can ask him, the map is delayed)

Anyways, good luck Elmo and may you be back to modding soon!

Aw..dang, I was so happy seeing Elmo's post about a BETA today. Now sad after reading Epena's post. But no matter, good things come to those who wait. We can wait for it Elmo. Good Luck!

Ah, afaik, the term of those"elite" weapons was invented to cover the award weapons forced into star wars canon by BF II.

I agree with you on the point that there were no special weapons for clone commanders, but where did you get the information that Bacara carried a DC-15A?

Yea. I feel for you Elmo. But don't look at the bad side of things. You'll get the map out eventually. And as Thire said, "Remember that real life comes first, so take your time!". I agree with that assessment. Don't worry. Things will come through. Just gotta push on man. :D

Elmo, if you're still having trouble on Monday you can XFire me. I'll also be working on my botpathing tutorial so I'll teach you as I work on it. :D

Sorry to continue to be off-topic, but just because it was in a game does not make it canon, the games are by far the least accurate of all SW things.

Virtually every Clone Trooper (not ARC Troopers or Clone Commandos) carried the same exact weapon load outs.

Yeah, what the games invent shouldn't become canon...but to some point, it simply becomes.

So let's address that Bacara Weapon problem from another point: He MUST have the carbine, since it's like that in the movie. But IMHO, Bacara should be made a desirable class, with something people can't have with the ordinary rifleman, and there should be something indicating he's a high-ranking individual, like Binoculars. (which call in orbital strikes, for example)
