Dwarf spider as playable unit?

Hey there Gametoast, after a summer break, I'm back to modding/mapping SWBFII. I'm currently working on a new map (Not telling, it's a suprise

) but I have been faced with some problemo's.
I'm trying to add the Dwarf Spider Droid in as a playable unit (Neat Idea, eh?) but, there's problem. I do some work on the odf and I am able to make it show up in game and on the unit list, BUT I can't play it otherwise the game cuts out, and if I play another unit the Dwarf Spider spawns ingame but as a Vehichle!!! HOW do I give my idea life or in other words, how do I give the Dwarf Spider an AI brain so it can operate independantly without a driver??? Thanks in advance

But that wouldn't make it playable by the player would it? It's still a vehicle with that line. So you could put it in a vehicle spawn and it would drive itself.

As Rancor would know, I don't think it's possible to make a vehicle a unit.

Oh yeah i remember that now...
Well you can make vehicles playable...just not walkers...

that sounds a bit like an ai-piloted vehicle
but didnt anyone make a small playable at-at?

I can't post the odf currently, I mod on a different computer than I do internet

. But if I understand correctly, would adding the line
Make it a driverless vehicle or a playable unit???

Ok.............. I read the thread (Thanks BTW), but is it possible to make a Dwarf Spider a playable unit by adding certain odf lines? What needs to be done???

No, sadly. The skeletons for vehicle walkers works differently than player walkers, like Acklays. It only works with certain lines that are only available for vehicle odfs.

Hmmm, well thanks anyways fella's

. I'll just have to be content with it as a vehicle in my map. I'll probablly place it in the WIP area soon

Hm... wouldn't you be able to force spawn a vehicle when the player (or ai) spawns, and then also force the player/ai into the vehicle? I thought I'd seen a map that had walkers as units, maybe it was all hovers.
