Dantooine is almost ready for beta testing, all I need now is for Jabba to get Raingod's models to me. But atleast they work, although the poly count doubles. ( so we might need to find a different way to get the Victory in-game)
Anyway Jabba has made a fire for us and I made a picture of Han in one of those Matrix moves, but I suck at making up captions so if anyone wants to make one and put it on the Funny Picture topic they can.

speaking of raingod's moddels, hows the coufee coming? is it finished, have you exported it jabba? i wanna try it out...

Awesome, Trans can you put those beta shot up on the Moddb site, maybe do a news post to announcing the mod with some shots of the map and models. The coufee is done, i just need to map it and export it. Butr that will have to wait since i'm busy trying to get some college work done before the strike is over.

porting JA models is a waste of time and its better to just make your own. also, why would you wanna use those god awful EAW models? theyre such low quality because they were only meant to be looked at from a distance and not up close. just make new models, they look pretty simple to me.

Acctualy i don't even think you can extract models from EAW, well atless not yet. And would be illegal to use them anyway. Sure you can have the VSD, theres stil lsome things i'm not to sure about like for the turrets, are they part of the model or not. Same for command consoles (like where someone would go up to control a turrets). I wanted to make it pilotable but i think it was you who posted that, if it moves it can't have bots spawn on it or vehicles. Was thinking we could have 2 versions, 1 would be static like the ISD and another with just a bridge and is controlled by 1 guy, he would pilot it and also have control over some main turrets and the rest would be AI controlled.
Acctually if you could put the VSD ingame that would be awesome, i still need to map the model, unless you can find someone who can do that, cause i don't have the time to map it right now and probebly wont for the next week (And if the college strike ends, more then one week).

i can map, texture and put it in game if you let me have the model, im just working on something that requires it. i had read that VSD's were fairly small compared to a full sized ISD, have you thought about making it just a frigate? im making the interdictor cruiser right now which is the same size as a ISD just a different type of ship.

i though the interdictor, if i'm thinking of the same one your doing was smaller then an ISD? Yes the VSD is 900 meters, the ISD is i think 1600 meters. Well it would be easy to just delete the inside and patch the hole. I can send you a version of both, one with no insides which would be controlled by the AI another which can be static, just cause with need one with a hangar for the first space map of the mod.

yeah, darker terrain might be nice, but we're waiting on finished versions of raingods buildings, those are just "placeholders".

the interdictor is around the same as a ISD and it has to be to be able to attack foes that it pulls outta hyperspace, but it has mostly fighter squadrons and not many ground units since its mainly ment to engage in space. i would like both versions just to see them, you can send them in either 3ds or obj. how are you gonna send, do you want me to PM you my email or are you gonna upload it somewhere and PM me a link?

Ok i was succesfull at extracting and importing the Bothan Assault Crusier model form the star wars homeworld 2 mod. I had to like flip have the poly's because they had inverse for some reason, but this will lett me build my own version. This one is crap, the person who made it does not know how to model properly. He just models just a bunch of parts and put them together, its all a mess too, lots of useless polys.

do you have a pic of it? i'm too lazy to go look through all of the screenshots on that mod's site (and there are a lot), trying to figure out which one it is. anyways, sounds good!
and i guess now that i finished my other map, i'll go get started on the ithor duel one.

Ok heres a few shot of the Bothan Assault Cruiser, its close to the size of the VSD is i remember but less weapons but a better veriaty of weapons. Thinking we can make this one just a AI controlled ship.
Now this isnt my model, its just the model i extracted from the HW2 Star Wars mod, its pretty crap, not good looking the like the pics on their site. But it will make a good refrence to build a new one. I have shots for all sides and angles, i also have the model save in 3d max so if other shots are needed its no problem. Spent like 2 hours yesterday fixing it cause half the poly's had inverse.

Well, i said my 1000th post had to be something important. And this is kinda important!

I have finished mara jade skywalker, now all that's left is the texturing (most challenging part for me

) but it should be done before then end of the next 2 months =P

you need to render it with the head light on, display> display options(all cameras) and scroll to the bottom and turn the head light on so that that terrible glare goes away. also if you dont reduce the polies in that face and hair its gonna be terribly messed up when you export it.
