Friend having %s_%s steam version of BF2 [Solved]

Hi again gametoast. I Had a lot of problems with maps crashing after first munging them and in instant action have the name look like ABC%s_%s. There were two topics that got merged together because I had this issue multiple times  I am now making this topic to help my friend who is trying to make an xcom mod for bf2 but is shy of asking for help on the internet.

Now my friend is having this issue so I sent him to the topic that I made a long time ago and the issue was resolved. That thread is here

Yuke5 posted a link to a download which had solved the problem and I directed my friend who is having this issue to there.
Hidden/Spoiler:
[quote]Download from the link in this thread, install in the new munge bats, and let us know if it works now. I ran into this problem myself. :D

My friend said that the link there was no longer working so I went into the FAQ and thought question 3 could be the problem. My friend reported back to me that he tried to download the patch but when he ran the exe it said it could not find battlefront 2. I know he has the steam version of the game and that might be an issue. Any solutions?

Also, if an admin wants to merge this with the old thread that is fine. I made a new one because the old topic is from 2013 and I didn't want to "resurrect" it.

yuke5 linked to this post:

All of the links still work except for gamefront/filefront links, for old Gametoast urls just remove the "/forums".
You can find the same thing yuke5 linked to in Question 7 of the FAQ thread.
The Steam version of SWBF2 is already patched to 1.1, you don't need to use those patch executables.

Thank you for clearing that up. Sent him the new link and it worked.
