Jet packs+other questions

Post by woner11 »

1.Is it possible for a jet pack to only work underwater?

2.Is it possible for a jetpack to have a different effect when its underwater than above water?

3. Is it possible to make weapons work underwater, and if so can you make them work for only certain individuals?

Thanks in advance.

To my knowledge the first two are not possible

the third there might be a way but I dont know id have to look because I know a grenade will still explode underwater but not throw so maybe there is something in the grenade odf?

EDIT: I think they are all impossible and it must be something in water properties that you cant change so that weapons dont work underwater

No.
Actually, tank shots work underwater. If they were to be resized, you could have an underwater blaster! And the jetpack may work underwater from what I know, or you can just make a slower jump anim. the effect is edited either through particle editor or through tga.

I've never seen a map that lets you get any vehicle under water.

The cis_tread_snailtank goes under water, this might be why:

Not yet at least...
And I was playing around on FreeCam, and the AddJetPacks command works underwater.

There are a lot of weapons that work underwater, it's just that most units don't have them. I believe emitters will work underwater (although I could be wrong, and I'm almost positive that if they do, then you won't see any .fx), I know melee weapons work underwater, and vehicle weapons work underwater (this is a property of the vehicle and not the weapon itself).

And most vehicles can go underwater - walkers or hovers (not flyers, though) can go underwater, walkers by default.

They do, I'm wondering if there is a way to not make it work anywhere but underwater.
