AIM saying "And you're over me..."

Ok, this is probably the most absurd bug that I've ever heard of. Every now and then, my speakers will occasionally blare on and sing a short segment of a song by a female singer.
Like about an hour ago, I had everything closed and I was on my desktop, and nothing open. Suddenly, a female voice sings "And you're over me..." or something like that. And I had no files or websites or music or anything open!
It does this completely by random. Another time I was modding and only had Windows Explorer (in My Documents) and an ODF file open and it happened again. It happens sporadically. It happened 6 times within the 3 days after it first happened. Then it went away for about a week and then it came back doing it once every day or every other day. It did it once even while I was playing SWBF2!
Its happened twice today (once while I was posting this message) so I made a topic.
So absolutely nothing is open, and the song that comes on sounds like it should belong on MTV (I've heard it before but I'm not sure I know what the song is). And its always that same segment that goes "And you're over me..." and then its gone. And it does this sporadically.

To me it sounds like a virus.

Hmm... strange. I'd suggest checking the system tray for starters, then using anti-virus.

Sounds like a prank. Check the Task Manager and look for things that shouldn't be running. If you can't figure out what an item is, search for it online. Also, check your startup programs: Start menu -> Run -> msconfig

Check to see if it's one of your friend's MSN/AIM/Whatever logon/logoff sounds first

Yeah the first time it happend, the first thing I did was check the Task Manager but nothing was open. I just checked the AIM settings to see if it was possible to customize your personal log in sound on someone elses computer when you log in but there was no such feature.
Now I'm guessing that when I pull up the msconfig command I'm supposed to check the startup tab or the Services tab for applications? What exactly should I be looking for? And what would the system tray be?

It was a glitch, and if you didn't mini-mod a few minutes afterwards, he would have been able to delete it himself

Srry, just used to the type of forums that you can always edit or delete your posts.

I'd say it's almost definitely AIM. It's not a client option, it's part of their gimmicky little "customization" thing. I used to have a similar problem where I heard a yawn, turned out it was every time my friend logged off.

Reminds me of Xfire.

In a way, but the XFire sounds are standardized, short, and inobtrusive.

I'll bet you anything that it's AIM. You can set custom login sounds. For example one of my friends has an annoying air horn set as his login sound. Scares the crap out of me whenever I leave my speakers on high after listening to music.

the same sorta thing happens all the time to me.
i could even have my pc turned off and my speakers on and i can here some kind of talking like a radio station. 2 nights ago it happened when i was in bed and i heard it. i got up and put my ear up against the speakers and i heard a sort of japaneese convo. its was really weird. the thing is the sound is louder if my speakers volume is lower. what do you think it is? im guessing it is picking up a signal from somewhere in a different country as it isnt even english. but my speakers aren't even wireless....
