Hello guys Ive taken a break from those other maps of mine to build something else. The map is called Field Assault for now. The Republic start out on the ice and have to make their way off the ice onto the snow beach and to the CIS fortifications on the hill. Im possibly planning on changing some things like taking down the canyon walls and playing with the lighting some more. Yes I know there isnt really enough cover right now. Here are some screen shots of the map enjoy.

Looks pretty good! One thing you might want to try though, is varying up those props you have on the field. They might be technically correct, but they probably won't be that much fun in reality. Just some other small stuff like shrubs or other barriers might make it a bit more interesting.
I think you could make this work really well. Good work.

For the canyons, they should vary in size in order to look more natural, but you don't need to take them down. Props are arranged in notbly systematic manner, but hey, it's the defense line of droids, not humans. And every single prop can be used as cover. None of it will protect you from every angle, but this forces the player to advance with strategy instead of just rushing from prop to prop.
Overall, it's a good start.
And Diet Dr. Pepper, I like attack/defense maps.

Also, I just noticed you've got snow falling - you should add a few patches of snow/make the terrain and props a bit snowier...Bobfinkl made some awesome snow retextures for the endor trees which you could use as background props/scenery...

Is there a specific reason why the ground is so dark? It makes the fog look unnatural and the sky looks like it's daytime. I'd recommend making the ground lighter and also play arount with the ambient lights as well as adding a directional light, wich can also cast shadows.

Actually, some swamp fog is known to have biological junk it that makes it glow different colors, which is where the Will-o'-the-wisp myth comes from.

I like the 3rd one quite much but when you look at it in the overview you should mayby add more lighter/darker fog the futher you get away from the main center of the fog regions. Shadow- and non-shadow regions swap to abrupt imo. And even though the fog now kinda hides it, I would make the shoreline towards the CIS more uneven. It looks a little unrealistic when it is straight like that.
Also it would be nice to know more about the sides since they obviously are not stock.
Definatly interisting map. Looks like it is gonna have a nice feeling (I never really liked snow/ice maps because they are mostly overdone and don´t have a good atmosphere to me, but yours seems to have a good mix)

The sides are in beta right now but heres a look at what I have for the Republic right now: Republic

Clone Commander Keller
Weapons: DC-15 Blaster Rifle, DC Blaster Pistol, and Thermal Dets Clone Gunner
Weapons: Z-6 Rotary Cannon, DC Blaster Pistol Light Infantryman(name subject to change)
Weapons: DC-15 Carbine, DC Blaster Pistol, Thermal Dets Anti-Armor Trooper
Weapons: Rocket Launcher, DC Blaster Pistol, Land Mines, Thermal Dets Clone Medic
Weapons: DC Blaster Pistol, Health/Ammo kit
The carbines are semi-auto 15 round guns. The DC (still thinking of a number) blaster pistols are 7 round semi-auto hand guns. The Z-6 has 100 rounds in every clip and the DC-15 Rifle has 50 rounds. Almost all the guns on the Republic side have custom sounds and the DC-15 Rifle has the custom rifle animation by kinetosimpetus. Im thinking about making the map have random Clone legions also. Good idea or no? So that is the Republics side looks like right now because im still working on the CIS side.

Commander Keller looks really awesome. I'm not normally impressed by Clone Commanders, but he is an exception.

I really, really like your textures! Nice work!
My one criticism would probably to add some scratches/dirt/marks to make the markings look a bit less painted on.

The bulky armored chestplate/flimsy cloth pants of the medic seem like a bit of a disparity to me.

I'd like to point out that while some of my assets are TCW oriented, the DC-15A animation is not one of them. It can of course be used for tcw mods, but TCW wasn't the reference.
Not sure I understand the 100mds thing, does that mean 100 shots per second?

I totally agree to this. Very nice work on the :clone: side. I would suggest to work a bit on the Anti Armor Trooper though. And if you are going for TCW style, I would use DC-17s because DC-15 don´t turn up the series and they don´t fit to the DC-15s that much.

I went and sank the effect a little more into the ground so the fog wouldn't be so far of the ground and it made it easier to see the droids. The reason the light is dark is because it is night time with the skylights/northernlights going on overhead.
@AcaelusThorne What else should be worked on for the Anti-Armor soldier?

Fog looks much better now
For the Anti Armor Trooper I meant the (ammo)bags around his waist. They could be turned towards the body a bit and mayby you add a belt or something because it doesn´t really look like they are attached to the stock belt under it (mayby making stock one grey so they match might help). And at the added pads on head and shin you could round the edges of a bit.

Instead of a droid medic you could make the engineer able to repair droids with his fusioncutter. Would look more natural since Bacta shouldn't even work on droids.
The droid medic could keep an ammo dispenser without health dispenser and get a mine dispenser instead. Would be more a support droid then and the exact mirroring of Rep and CIS would be ruined though.

I agree with Bob, a droid medic doesn't make much sense, also perhaps you could give the Droid Commander a Recon Droid, right now he has the same weapons as the regular Battle Droid. Also the CIS has 6 units ATM while the Republic has 8, is that by design or are they W.I.P or what? Good job on the rest of the sides, I really like the skins!
