to change the tips you need to localize "level/common/tips" you don't need to overwrite every single tip if you don't want to. What I did was deleted all but one tip (although you can have/change as many as you want) and then I changed the content of the remaining tip to my mod map specific info and tips, that way that info is all (in terms of tips) that shows when my map loads. I also included my name in the tip/info, it's just an easy way of ensuring your work isn't "stolen" or any credit taken away from you, for instance you could change it to:
---------------------------------------------------------------
Mustafar: Hot Footing It
Lava World place, you know, it looks cool!
Destroy your opponents (derrr!) Capture CPs (derrr!) Don't walk on the lava, it's hot and you'll die!
Oh yeah this is my map, don't claim it as your own. For permission to distribute it email:
[email protected]
CarbineImpulse
-------------------------------------------------------------
That sort of thing. You can have any number of tips and it doesn't effect the regular tips that you get with the game when you run other levels. Be sure to have your changed tips in the various different language versions, ie US & UK. I do my tips etc in all languges, converting (and checking) by using AltaVista's Babel Fish - Link although there are other language convertors out there. Anyway it's something I'd recommend doing.
