Create one and then you'll have it.

Is there any other files I need to put in data_abc/_LVL_PC?

Ops sorry. Probibly should of read through it one more time. Also thanks Ace so much for the help! Really apretiate it.

Edit
Sorry but one more question. I am at the step where you open particle editor.exe. Then a message comes up saying that it could not read common level. I know it is suposted to say that. Then once I click ok another message saying that it could not read core level. Click ok. Then an error report comes up.

I tried pressing all three buttons. Debug, Send error report, and don't send. Soo close to getting it too.

Just so you know, that folder doesn't exist until you munge your map for the first time.

If PE doesn't work for you the way you're trying to set it up according to my tutorial then just do it the other way, you can't go wrong.

Extract the contents, open the extracted folder and move the "Munged" folder and PE.exe into this directory and it should work:
LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\DATA\_LVL_PC

I was having a problem with PE.

Every time I start it it says "cannot read core.lvl"

Ummmm. What does that mean?

I did that, Teancum. I read the entire THREAD and it still didn't give me an answer.

I even DL'ed the updated PE and it still didn't work.

Particle Editor Problems after trying all solutions

So I recently wanted to make some new effects, and i downloaded the Particle Editor Update (which had previously worked before I uninstalled the Mod Tools), but I've put it once again in my ToolsFL\bin folder and this time, the effects still come up as coloured squares. The other off putting thing is that I don't get a 'could not find common.lvl' error when I open Particle Editor, so I'm not quite sure what it's doing. I've tried all 3 of the solutions here, with no luck on either of them. I think it's something to do with this error not coming up, but I'm not entirely sure.
Anyone got any ideas of what I might be missing here?
Edit: Whenever I open an effect and attempt to close the program, I get a Visual C++ telling me 'Debug Assertion Failed'.

Not only that, but when I open it, the exe file tells me: 'texture munge is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file'.

I'm sorry for bumping this. I have tried all three methods and every time I try to open Particle editor first it gives me "could not read common.lvl"
then I hit ok and it says "could not read core.lvl"
then I hit ok and it gives me this "test1 Module has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." And crashes. Can anyone help me with this. I don't have any clue how to solve this problem.
