Does anyone here know an excellent guide to help me with making space maps? I looked in the documentation but doesnt tell me that much like how to move the ships or rotate objects.

Look in the Procedural Animation doc. If you read the docs, they cover everything you need.

What they forget to tell you is that nearly everything from the Death Star and Polis Massa is incompatible with space. (<--A tip to save you some fustration. Unless you can find out a way to fix it.)
