First real type mod (online sides patch)

Ok so this "online patch" is just for me im going to use the best skins ive made and maybe new weapon models. This is the first mod im going to make so im having a little trouble, ok so first of all i need to find the sides folder i found a sides folder but it had wierd code that made no sense, it was in gamedata data LVL_PC folder so was this the right one? (i have BF2_MOD_TOOLS and visual munge) if it was not the right one were would i find the right one and how would i put my skins on the stock skins? help will be very much appreciated thank you.
