so i haven't made a map in a year or so, and i finally had an urge to make something new (yankfan convinced me)
I consider it my best map, and this time, I didn't overdo the unit count

I know some of my maps in the past have had too many units..
The map consists of 5 cps, each in a unique type of position. It has a ravine, a tunnel/cave, manor houses, a fort, ruins, and a forest.
In the forest, there are two manor houses, and on the other side of the map, a fort. In the center there is a big clearing where there are ruins. connecting the fort and manor houses there is a ravine which also has a tunnel connecting it to the clearing.
I have not done sides yet, but there are both Clone Wars and GCW.
Republic vehicles — hover tank, barc speeders
CIS vehicles — AAT,STAP, dwarfspider droid
Empire vehicles — ATST, speeder bike
Alliance vehicles — combat speeder, speeder bike
ATST & Clone Wars Update 6/24/08
Here's some more eye-candy for ya'll:
ATST with tiger stripes. Great idea, CCO!
Here are some shots of the clone wars.. right now I have ep2 troopers... They seem to be really under-used. The magna guard object has been replaced with a camo-textured battle droid.
I doubled the size of the Dwarf Spider Droid texture, and made it more realistic with more detailed textures and colors.

Update 6/25/09:
The level is 95% complete (just gotta do some testing and finishing touches - i might have a beta, how's that sound?)
I retextured the empire, rebels, and cis. Traditional sides though. *except for the addition of a battledroid, and changing the magna guard model to a normal bdroid
I also made a minimap, consistent with the shipped map style.

I'm doing balancing work now, almost up to a Beta.
AAT skin based off of one by EA711
I added moss and changed some other things on it..
The CIS side has been changed from that ugly yellow-beige to the nice red-beige color that is on the 1st person droid arms.

I just made this because i was bored of all the current maps I have in my addon folder, and I wanted something fresh (since i've been away from this for a year)
I really like how this map is coming along

I love that pic with Vader floating in the moonbeam.
I've put a LOT of effort into moon beams in this map. There are a ton in positions that make this map very aesthetically pleasing.
I'm an aspiring artist, so I have a very visually-oriented nature.
My process:
The appearance of my maps is what i work on first and foremost.
Then i make the map layout.
Then I edit the sides.
Then i work on gameplay.

This map is my favorite of all my maps, and it's gone through a lot changes (in terms of command post positions)

Well, I enjoy most of your maps (I don't like Raxus Prime

) - they are always original and very well made - so I will be expecting to play this one too.
All screenshots are amazing, but the first one is my favorite, the AT-ST striding under the moonlight, that's kinda poetic. In a nerdy way.

Thanks Nihillo! I don't like Raxus Prime either
I might postpone this map's release.. I think at the end of the summer, I'll release a map pack with all my unreleased maps :vader2:

Okay, this map is already in my top 5 Best-Looking-Maps-Ever and I haven't even played it yet. Very, VERY good job mixing the Rhen Var and Endor assets + night time for an all new look. Downloading this the day it comes out.

Hey Speck, glad to see you back in modding. I agree, this looks to be your best map yet! But are you gonna have AI heroes? I will certainly give this a download when it comes out.

+there are Rhen Var "glacier" objects that don't come with textures, so i made them rocks, and found them very useful

alrighty. My opinion of *good* sides seems to conflict with a lot of the players out there (i
don't like changing them
too much — though i do edit textures) and I even have my doubts about including heroes at all. :vader2:
I'm not quite sure what to do about heroes.

What I might do:
–AI heroes, but no player-controlled heroes (harkening back to BF1)
–No heroes
-Player-controlled heroes, but no AI heroes
It all depends on the gameplay and balance, so this decision will come when everything else is securely ... good.
