Hey Alpha,

14 CP's ehh? Yeah, you're probably right about the re-enforcement count. 200 would be too few.
I don't know just how big this map is, but you might wanna think about having more like 1000 re-enforcements per side. (if the map size would allow)

Just a thought.

@Joe-B-Wan

Yes, map size would allow that many. :P If someone could tell me how to do this, I would appreciate it.

5 Screens (as promised):

Aerial Shot
Core Base
Shot From Under Platforms
Abandonned Republic Base
Hanger Base

Sorry about the platform from the first pic in every one. My mistake in MSPaint. :P Just ignore that part. :)

Ask and Ye shall recieve!

Holy poop Alpha! Those pics are huge. My poor, poor dial-up

Thanks for the glimpse. It's looking Really great. I'm looking forward to this one for sure! :D

If you need any help with textures, I could do a little. (I also offer this to any others who may need it)

Yeah, just a suggestion for next time; please don't save in BMP format... not to be harsh or anything, but it takes forever to load. I personally suggest saving them in a PNG format, since it greatly decreases the file size, without any color disortion like JPEGs or GIFs.

But the pics look pretty good from what I see. Though I think you may need to retexture those Kamino platforms so they blend in more... I could probably do it for ya... but it'll have to wait, since I got some bad news...

Okay, so the world's not going to end, but I got a science project for school, and I really don't have much time to make the skins I promised you right away. I'll probably be bogged down with work for a good portion of the next week or so, so I might recommend just getting some already made skins from someone (OOM-9 has some... I'm sure he'll let you use them) and just use those until I can get back to work on the ones I started. Hope that's not too inconvienient for you... that also includes stuff like the gunship and stuff too. I'll try to get some done, but I doubt I'll make a lot of progress... at least not for a week or so. Don't get me wrong, I want to do these skins, but schoolwork comes as a first priority for me (trust me, I know what it's like to fall behind... I've been doing that for the past three years, and I hope to stop that this year). But don't fret too much; after all, a week isn't really that long if you think about it. I just gotta do a lot of note-taking and researching and reading that's probably going to tire me out... so even if I did have time to work on the skins, I'd just be way to exhausted from all the work. I think it's kind of ridiculous; a science project this early in the year... but hey, what are ya gonna do, eh? School's school, and I gotta do my work if I hope to make a living...

I cna't skin for the life of me. :P I don't understand how, I'm a computer graphics artist, but I don't know all the formating and stuff. Would I just change the TGA in the MSH folder and it'll be done? (Not the Assests MSH folder, the one with my map) What color should they be as well...

Oh, and sorry about the screens. I did them real fast and the defeault was BMP, I'll get some GIF or JPG ones up today.

You have Photoshop correct? If you're a graphic artist, then you must at least have something similar to it.

Skinning is pretty easy, actually. Just open up the TGA file (let's say for the clone trooper) in Photoshop/Fireworks/Whatever. Then, just edit whatever you want on the image, save as a TGA file, and it'll replace the clone trooper skin with the one you made... as long as you saved it as "rep_inf_trooper" or whatever... if you saved it as something like "rep_inf_trooper2", it won't work.

It's much simpler than it sounds. As long as you have some kind of image editing program like Photoshop that can open TGAs, you should be all set. (and the troopers should be orange. Here's a good reference pic)

I'm an amateur graphic artist myself. So if I can do it, I'm sure you can.

Sorry I can't do the skins though. I feel really bad, but I just don't have the time with that project... I'll try to work on them a bit, but I'm probably not going to be able to finish them. (not for a week, at least...)

Wow, I didn't know it was that easy. I'll try my hand at a skin and post it when I'm done. :)

Here's my first skin:

Not my best work, but hey. I'm a 3D modeler more than grpahics designer. :P

(Ugg. The TGA copy looks better. :) )

I'm more than willing to do a little image editing for those who would rather put their talents to work doing other modding tasks.

I judt don't have the time right now to learn all aspects of modding Battlefront, but image editing is almost like a Zen excercise to me. So just let me know, send me the .tga file to use as a template, let me know what you want to change about it, and I'll whip something out for ya'!

Cool! I'll get to that eventually. I'll have to write down and figure out what I want to change for each one and then I'll send it through a PM. :D

Question: I replaced the trooper with it (in the REP MSH side folder in my map folder) and munged and tested, but I still got the normal trooper...help, please.

A: that's a stormtrooper skin, B: you have to change your lua lol

How do I change the LUA? And it's a modified stormie skin. If you look at a stormie helmet and that, you'll see the difference, but yes it was made from one.

EDIT: GRR. Now the clone trooper class is gone!

lol... what'd you do? It's not that hard do, take your skin, name it imp_trooper, and put it in your rep\msh folder, take the stormtrooper msh, stick it in the rep\msh folder, take all other stormtrooper msh's/tga's and stick em in the rep\msh folder, then modify your clone trooper odf to look like a stormie (assuming you already know how to do that), then go to your lua, go to the place where it says ReadDataFile("SIDE\\rep.lvl", and change it to ReadDataFile("dc:SIDE\\rep.lvl",
