You are correct, I was hopeful that more would have been submitted....we have two. I will update the contest, add a poll, and give the links out without the names of those who submitted. (Unbiased review, unless of course they decided to put their names in the download credits)
I don't think everyone in the contest is on the same page? That or they conveniently forgot to give a drop out notice. I will mail each one to be sure. I hope this goes better next time. I was a horrible host. :/

Oh yeah, I'm sorry. I've been so busy I even forgot that there was a contest, much less to make a map for it. I think the timing of the contest was a little poor, but the actually design of the event itself was well done. I think the next one will go much better, especially now that we know what it's like working (or not working) with a deadline. I'm sorry I forgot.

Thought this was going through June into July. My bad, guess I'm out of this.

Might be a stupid question but where can the maps be downloaded?

The links are in the poll.

DARNIT I should've submitted my map(after looking at the submissions, mine wouldn't be that bad).

My vote has been cast. Both maps were fun, both maps need more polish, but one was the victor. Good luck contestants.

You still can submit it:
The front page of this topic wrote:Finals
Poll Layout: 2 Submissions
Vote Time: 3 Days (Enough Time For - Next Contest Setup/Additional Entries)
Award: (Title) Winner of 04/30/13 Contest

I'm sorry guys, I received an additional submission and added it to the poll. Unfortunately I was not aware that adding a new entry would re-set the votes.

If you have an entry you'd like to submit now is the time to do so.

It would be best if votes were done by PM. Also, the file for "Tatooine Bantha Desert" has CommanderCody's name in it...

...And Gold Town's creator is listed in its filename, leaving only 1 anonymous submission...

I suppose it needs to be an obvious rule next time. "Submissions must not contain creator(s) name" Only those who are regulating or hosting the contest will know the submitter name via PM. There are now a total of four mods that have been submitted, I do apologize for the sudden change. This confusion is of my own fault.

Even if it were an obvious rule, mistakes are bound to happen anyway, so it's the responsibility of the contest coordinator to inspect the files and make necessary changes (i.e. rename, re-archive, upload to a different hosting site, etc.) before making them available to the public. The other option is to just disqualify the participant, but that would be a bit harsh.

Well, any way this contest seems to have been more of a practice run than anything

I agree cleb. However, the next contest will be really great. We know its possible but it just requires a tad more organization.

I have to quote this. It's especially true when the votes are reset.

Modification Creators
Gold Town
Tatooine: Bantha Desert
Mission: 1337
Kriegburg Castle
And the winner is (as if it wasn't already obvious at this point) Kriegburg Castle, by Jaspo!
If the next contest's votes are in fact PM'd things should be a lot more interesting, 411 Remnant has stated that they'd be able to create a video for the next contest to announce the winner. Thanks to everyone who entered the contest and all of those who supported it! The next contest will be spectacular!

Thanks!
And, the link in the poll is now updated to a more complete version than what is shown in the video above (Glitch25 changed the link about two days after the deadline but I'm sure most of you didn't notice)
If I zipped up the correct version as version 1.1, then it's the most recent build. There's a slim chance it's a more recent build but not the most recent. I've been on vacation and away from my computer so I can't tell.
Version 1.1
should have new textures for walkways and turret roofs, lighting, shadows, a few extra openings put in and the planning and barriers altered accordingly, to vastly improve AI troop movement (though still not perfect), and an updated loadscreen, but still no minimap

Shouldn't Jaspo get:
Award: (Title) Winner of 04/30/13 Contest
?
Or is there something I missed?
