Precisely. But the shelf life argument won't hold water. Now that it is out, Microsoft and Nintendo now have a goal to beat hardware wise. And they also see the mistakes that the ps3 has and won't repeat them. So yes the ps3 raised the bar, but it came out of the gate wobbling and limping. MS won't be outperformed, so expect something similar in the works in the near future, if not already on the drawing board. They will learn from Sony's mistakes so Sony better get it's [BAACOONN!!] in gear or it will loose the console war like Sega did with Sony. That'd be like playing the newest PC game on an 8ghz system with 10gb RAM and a 4gb video card. Nothing out there can touch it. Now people can argue that the PS3 will have a longer shelf life than the other two due to the fact that it'll still have more power to push in a few years, but consumers will look for the new system, whatever that is, even though the PS3 still has potential.
Bottom line is it's got all this power and nothing to use it on.
