Hard Drive Partition/Pathing Issue

Okay so my current hard-drive is like this:

C: SYSTEM (Windows 7 stuff that I can't see) -------------things automatically want to get downloaded and stuff to here, which is a problem because there's hardly 70 MB left in there

D: XP (Windows XP, this partition was created from C) ------this is where a bunch of stuff just goes, and sometimes it will drain C for it's own space despite having 652 MB left

I: HP (Main Hard-drive partition) ----------------------hundreds of gigs left, I want this to give space to the other ones

Can't you use Windows 7's partition editor to do that?

I can't boot through Windows 7, and even if I could it wouldn't let me change the sizes of the system and boot partitions.

Are you saying that you can't get your computer to boot up in windows 7 at all? If so, whats the point in keeping it?

I would use my link above, wipe unneeded partitions, then merge them into C: or a new D: partition.

So this will allow me to change things around despite being "locked" by Windows?

It should. If not you can find something on freewaregenius.com -- you should also check out a program called "Unlocker". It's useful when Windows won't let you move/delete/rename a file. Unlocker pops up and lets you "unlock" it from the program its attached to.
