Cant get xsi models to work

Post by jango »

I cant get any object i make with xsi mod tools 6.01 to work. Here are the exact steps i took:
1) created a null and renamed it to dummyroot
2) create a simple cube with 432 triangles and put it under dummyroot
3) put a texture bes2_bldg_set01.tga and renamed it to com_bldg_box.tga
4) saved it as com_bldg_box
5) went to crosswalk, then export as xsi and checked and unchecked all the things that repsharpshooter said to and i hit export
6)moved the file and texture to the folder that mshex 3 is in and typed in the name of it and it did its thing then it only makes a 1kb msh file
7)i t open it with 3d object converter and it says unrecognized or unsupported file type (or no valid object found)

doesn't matter, i know what error your talking about, its not the texture. try freezing the model and freezing all transforms. if that doesnt work, export your cube to .obj file, then re-import it. i know it sounds strange but i've had similar problems that resolve themselves by doing so.
