More texture problems

So when I texture, it looks like this.
But in the mesh viewer, it looks like this.
Any suggestions?

Hmm, it looks like SWBF Viewer is reading the UV grid texture instead. But I am not exactly sure how Blender works since I use Softimage 2012.

I see, well, Zeroeditor interpreted a texture like that as well, not sure what to do.

do you have a tetxure that looks like the colorfull one you see in swbfviewer?
how is the textureprojection of the sphere in blender? can you post an image of the UVs?

I don't have a texture like the one in the SWBF2 viewer.

with UVs i mean post an image ofhow the model is laid on the texture.
are you really sure that there is no texture that looks like this in the folderof the model you are viewing with swbfviewer?

I swear by the Many Moons of Munnapoor (Dr. Strange reference) that I have no such texture as the one you see on the mesh viewer.
