Chrome?
Hey GT, I'm making a model and part of it needs to look like it's made of chrome. It also is a unit, so I can't define a specific envmap because it will be moving around. Would specular be the best way to go, or is there another option?

Re: Chrome?
The best way to replicate chrome is to use a generic environment map (since specular only shows up at certain angles). And plus, you can't really tell what is being "reflected" with specific environment maps most of the time anyway.

What do you mean by a generic environment map? Does one simply set the flag to 6 and not assign a cubemap to the material? Because I tried that and there is no reflection at all on the model.

Re: Chrome?
all_inf_tantive4trooper.msh would be your working example. Render Type 6 and helmet_envmap.tga
