Texturing help

Post by fiddler_on_the_roof »

I'm trying to texture my model, and I want to do it in parts. But whenever I try to select and texture the next part of the model, the already textured part changes. Is there a way to prevent this? so I can do it in segments? Also, in XSI 5, how do i get triangle count?

1. in order to apply more than one material, you must either split your model. you can do that in two ways:
either by selecting the polygons you want to give a certain texture, rightclicking and selecting "extract polygons (delete)" and the applying a new material and/or texture to them
or you choose "create cluster" instead, this will create a polygoncluster you can select by clicking on the "clusters" button on the right. then you can apply a new material and/or texture to the cluster

2. click on the eyesymbol above a camerawindow and choose "selectioninfo"
