Router branching off a router

Ok i know that a wireless router can't branch off another main wireless router and still work. Does anyone know another way for it to work? The main one is old and can't work with my Wii but everything else and is very reliable. The other one works with my Wii but no some other things and is not reliable.
Reliable = not always connected to internet.

Could you expand on that? I don't quite understand what you mean.

One thing that might fix your problem is to use a cat5 (LAN) cable to connect the old router to the new one. This should work.

Also, check to see which channel your wireless network is on, channel 6 is default for most, and since many routers on the same channel causes lots of noise, you may want to consider changing the router's channel to a different one.

If you are still having problems, it may be time to upgrade to a more stable router.

Actually you can. You'll need one of them strictly as an access point (Your new, unreliable one). What routers do you have and I'll see if I can walk you through setting it up.

Ok. Modem goes to the Old reliable one the D-Link and has two computers wired to it then the third port to the TrendNet router (new one).

Okay, give me a few days to look into the functions. Not familiar with Trendnet router software layouts. What are the model numbers?

Are you able to login to the D-link router? It usually has an info section on the homepage that will tell you the model number.
