Need help to change Unit model (in a mod)

Can someone show me how I can change the thirdperson and firstperson models of a unit in a already existing mod? And maybe how to add a backpack and change the weapon (weapon and backpack are allready in the mod)?

I don’t believe this is possible to do to an exsisting mod and you would also need permission of whoever’s mod it is I order to re release it

It is only for my privat use so either way I do have the permission.

It's possible but the process it very long and difficult and making it public would invite others who are less honest to steal content. Have you tried contacting the author?
