I think they were playing it on the DS, just with the video being outputted to a TV/PC Monitor.

I can find other gameplay vids/screens and post the links if anyone wants them.
That isn't the DS being outputted, its the PSP, I'd recognize it any day. I am so getting this, Wow, It comes out in fall, My birthday is in fall.. awesome coincidence :D And for you guys who are saying this looks like crap, it looks so much better then Renegade Squadron.

With two screens? (In the one that's being output at least)

The DS version doesn't look like that. It's got more of a top-down view.

That's not a top down view? The second two do look like PSP, I think, with the graphics style, but the first one definitely looks like the DS.

What do you mean by "the second two"?

I can tell you that of the three videos I posted last, all three were on the DS. The PSP version is a bit different, as it has the classic third person camera rather than an top-down view, for one.

the PSP version looks more like SWBF2 on the PC.

the DS version looks more like 8-bit.

How is that not a top-down? Ever played ANY dungeon game -- X-Men Legends, Gauntlet, etc? That's definitely top down.

Wait, are you saying that it is top down, or that it isn't top down?

Which - hooray! - you both agree on. I think this is simply miscommunication.

Ok, then we're in agreement. When I said "That's not a top down view?" I was asking seriously if you were saying that that footage wasn't top down.

Glad we got that cleared up.

Pretty cool gameplay vid there. I've never seen that one before. I see that there are expanded ship interiors, as well as orbital bombardment. I have to say though, I don't much like that they have cutscenes for air-to-space transitions and capital ship landing/takeoff rather than it all just being ingame.

Also, from all the gameplay vids I've seen, including this one, all the the maps look sparsely populated. With so much map space, you think they would've filled it up with more AI.

Hovewer a Big Battlefront for only 16 players it's a Waste, this game concept is not for portable consoles.

found a "gameplay walkthrough" video. basically, you see stuff we've already seen (fighting on Hoth, Bespin, Cato Nemoidia, and that heroes vs villains), while some dude explains stuff about the game differences between singleplayer and multiplayer, which are basically like battlefront 2's differences. those star destroyers look ugly.

But you're still looking at AI players too. It's not like the AI turn off when you play MP.

Apparently there's to be 16 player MP, with 8 bots filling the rest of the battlefield. Meaning: Maximum units (including AI) = 24.
Maximum human players = 16.

"You can get into sixteen player online multiplayer battles. The only real limitation to this is that there can only be twenty four active combatants on an individual level. This means that if all sixteen players are fighting in one level you will have only a few bots running around the field at the same time."

Also, to help to speed up the flow of battle is a new addition: drop pods.

"To expedite this sort of chaotic combat a new option has been added to the battlefield; that of drop pods. To reduce transport time from shipboard combat you will be able to climb into drop pods and crash straight to the planets surface to bring the fight quickly."

A bit like Halo's ODSTs, I think.

"The Galactic Conquest mode will feature around the ballpark of thirty five hours of gameplay wherein you control a single clone trooper from the episode 1 storyline all the way down to past where episode six ended. There is even a hot seat mode where up to three players with one disk can pass the PSP around and let the computer decide the outcome of their battles giving the game a strategic board game feel to it."

35 hours eh? I think they might be getting Galactic Conquest mode mixed up with the singleplayer campaign though.
And I don't even understand this "hot seat" mode. What would be the point of having 3 people pass around a PSP just to let the computer decide the battles for you?
Plus, I didn't know there were clones back during the Episode I timeline.

Grievous doesn't look to great up close. And they just love showing Ackbar zap stormies, don't they?

According to this Gamespot article, there are to be 12 maps...only:

This game looks awesome...I don't even care that there's a cutscene for ground to space. After all, it's only PSP. And even then, it's not like it says *LOADING*. It's almost like a Star Wars transition. It works. Fighting in space and on the ground in mere seconds alone is good, but the fact that you can shoot capitol ships, BLOW THEM UP from the inside out and shoot at the ground is amazing.

I have a DS but honestly it looks terrible from what I've seen. I just don't see it as "battlefront" material. I may think otherwise if it wasn't labeled as such, but even if it was not a "battlefront" title it just doesn't look good at all.

The PSP is no PC granted, but it's still strong. I don't even have a PSP But I'll get one soon due to a $200 visa card won online... But I'll honestly say, that this game alone makes it worth buying one.
