Some of you might recall my earlier Mos Eisley redux heroes map last June , it was designed to curb wall exploiters and breathe new life into the heroes mode. It suffered from a few over reaching damage zones that killed innocent players ........ This version takes the map further and i even experimented with advanced hex edits and force power modifications. I even managed to get a custom skin to work (a skill I intend to use more now that I know how)
LINK:
http://starwarsbattlefront.filefront.co ... Dawn;68543

(updated: this is the official filefront link )

instructions:
DELETE old MOS EISLEY DAWN map first
there is no file name change for MED 2 , and the 2 are not compatible

older file versions will kick you off the pub server .

Hope you enjoy my map and MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!

Changes since the last version:

I had alot of time to anylyze what was working and not working . This exciting version tests very well and is not so much a minor variation as it is more of a major modification balancing the inequities of the game mode "HEROES VS VILLAINS" .............

:Fixed issues with damage/death zones over reaching the intended boundaries I set them in.

:Added a smoke bomb effect to Leia's Thermal Grenades, grenades also deal more damage.-thanks Buster kinkade
:Chewbacca & Jango's time bombs now deal more damage larger radius
:Fett flamethrowers reach further than before , and damage is 30 % instead of 10%
: Damage zones now affect Gen Grievous (nice try attempting to keep that a secret Gil.)
:Sith Lightning now very potent with the Emperor and Count Dooku
:Obi Wan Kenobi now has Jedi invulnerability power replacing saber throw.
:Ayala Secura is now red twilekk skin by Droidekka 88 (skin pak version 3), green saber is now violet.
:Anakin Skywalker now cloaked model (Darth Vader Sith apprentice) saber throw replaced with Force Pull.
Yoda and Ki Adi Mundi now have JEDI MINDTRICK instead of Force Push (yoda) or Saber Throw.(those who have played Jedi knight series know what this does....)
:Yoda has increased attack abilities
:Mace Windu saber throw replaced with Force Pull + Ground Smash given increased damage radius
:Most characters have thinner sabers (looks more authentic to the films)

These changes should balance out the 2 sides , and empower the once weaker ones .

I'm looking forward to this. :)

Edit: I found the gameplay to rather enjoyable. My only questions are this?

Would you have the chance (later on ok) to modify the Wrist Rocket, Solo's Pistol, Chewie's Bowcaster, Darth Vader, and Leia's Pistol? I found them to be underpowered.... :)

I love the red Twi'Lek skin I made...see even the most simplistic makes all the difference...machinimas people.

I just finished playing it, an I have to say this is a really good map.
Talking about the 'map' part, it's quite big, with well distribuited CPs, although the bad thing is that units don't always fight everywhere. The death regions are well put, I went out and I died pretty fast, lol.
Then, there are the modification you talked about. The lightsabers are, indeed, shorter, more movie-like, and that's good, it makes the game realistic. There's also the change in non-Jedi units. which is good too, although I still think Jedis are a bit overpowered. The Aayla skin from Droideka88's pack is nice too.

The thing I recommend to this map is adding more Hero units, especially non-Jedi ones, and raise the unit count.
Congratulations on your map :D

Droidekka man, thanks for this , now I can convert that to PSP format and show my co-workers what the heck im talking about.

Thanks again for the skin packs and all the cool mods you do.

by the way anyone notice the bots in my map are more aggressive than usual.? I have no idea why this is , so dont ask , but if you know a way to get the AI level to tone down Im all ears. (besides adjusting the difficulty in singleplayer)

Wow MARTINK,
I appreciate the great feedback and as for your suggestion , my last experiment was to try to get Leia replaced with a custom female hero, Im not at this skill level yet , so it didnt work out .
Each time I open ZERO EDITOR i learn something new, the trick is finding a use for it.

I really like this map, what I especially like is that you've made it glicth free! I tried to do the cantina glitch and got away with maybe 5% health left.

Greatjob! gtpwn

I like the adjustments to the different units, the heroes aren't just "carbon copies" of eachother anymore. I'm not a glitcher (nor have I even tried to glitch this game) so the death/damage regions are more of a surprise to me than anything, but I imagine they serve their purpose well. On a similar note, if you release another version could you add in a minimap? Maybe start with the original Mos-Eisley map and add to it? I usually make this request of everyone, but there's more to it this time. I was wandering around the map and ran across what looked like a neutral command post. When I got closer... Lets just say Secura doesn't need to worry about Order 66 anymore. There were also a few very normal looking roof tops I died just by landing on them with Fett. It might be nice to know where I can and cannot go...

Other than that, nice work.

can you make it a zip file because my win rar free download time expired....

oh and i think jedi mindtrick makes you invisible until your energy runs out but if you stay still your energy will regian while invisible. well at least thats what jedi mindtrick does in archer01's jedi support maps.

So did mine about 2 years ago , yet it still works , try closing the notice about it expiring , you will see its still uncompressing and works fine.

JEDI MINDTRICk makes the user slightly harder to see , the radar blip wont be seen in the right side , and its very easy to be mistaken for a bot.

D/L the map and play it on the custom server with your friends - we also host Coruscant streets...........
