Battlefront III Legacy [? - Apr, 28th, 2017]

Battlefront III Legacy is a large-scaled conversion mod being developed by me, Anakin, jedimoose32 and some additional helpers/contributors.
Our goal is to convert all four teams (both eras) and at least one full functional map from the cancelled game by Free Radical Design, Battlefront III.

So far we are nearly done with the Clone Wars Sides. We alread implemented (or are implementing or are about to..) almost all Clone Wars Weapons, Units, Vehicles, Sounds, Heroes and more.
We are going to add new animations too as well. There will be new heroes [canon and non-canon] too like X1, X2, Padme, Palpatine (EpisodeIII), Falon Grey, Rahm Kota and more.

The only map we will release is the BF3 Coruscant Map. So far we only had the collision files extracted from the available Build, un-UV'ied, with holes and bugs. But we textured and finished this map, fixed tons of bugs and made it into a playable version how it would always been in Battlefront II before.

This mod will be shipped with one map and two new eras (CW and GCW). Both eras will be playable in BF3: Coruscant and into all regular maps and possibly featured, community-made maps.

Bf3: Coruscant will have a bunch of new modes besides already existing ones like Conquest, CTF and hero assault. We plan on adding modes similair to EA's Battlefront. Also new Objective based modes are planned.

We also work on a completely new HUD, being a mix of Battlefront II's and III's HUD, a mix of EA's HUD and from other, very famous games. Right now things do work well.

There is no date of release yet. But we can already give you information about our current progress:

-Map ~95% done
Missing: Bug-Fixes, new Objects, additional stuff and polishing (Also new game modes are not created yet).

-Sides (CW) ~35% done
Missing: CIS Side, Configuration, Ground Vehicles, Heroes.

Very nice work that has been done by all the contributors so far! The video and WIP updates you have posted will definitely be helpful to follow much more easily now. I bet this will take years to make since it is a really big project and a lot of work and effort is needed to make this the best Battlefront 3 Mod there is for Battlefront 2.

Can't wait for this , it's going to be a huge upgrade for BF2.

I think we should all get together and start porting as much of BF3 into Battlefront 2. :D

Thank you all. If any of you want to help us, feel free to fork our repo on github, https://github.com/GT-Anakin/data_BSM and work in a custom branch. If you finished your work, send us a pull request and we'll see what we can use.

Currently there is no one working on Imp vs All. So if you like, port the imp/all units, make some basic odf and ... pull request ;) You should take a look at our sides we use custom skeletons to get better animations and applied spec and normal map to every unit.

You replied on a YouTube comment a while ago saying that you would release your unused buggy bf3 capital ships, are you still going to release them or is it a no?

Please excuse me for not sharing these unused assets earlier as promised. During the past weeks I've been really busy doing various things almost with no real ending in sight. I know i'm not working on the project, so it isn't really for me to say, but I doubt it will take years. They've been working on this for about two months now and look at how much they've already gotten done! It's amazing!

I thought when I saw Cato Nemoidia nearly completed by JazzMaster, it would be released by the end of the summer but it is nearly a whole year later and no word from him. You never know what could happen, maybe the current modding team will need to delay production once or multiple times due to real life events.

I guess that's true. Hopefully that doesn't happen but you never know.

This gunship has some bugs though. Except for some collisions which can be fixed easly I am still struggling with the ball turrets. Besides the weird camera position I am having trouble with the turret node stuff.
