they're in the imp side folder as imp_inf_officer_gray and look for the respective .msh and .tga you will also have to copy and rename one of the .tgas

You can find them in 3 colors (black, gray, and green) in the Conversion Pack Infantry assets

yes it doesn't have a skin you need to open the .msh with notepad and search for .tga there should be two different skins one saying something like imp_inf_officer.tga the other being something else (i forge the exact name). Copt the skin imp_inf_officer.tga and rename the copied one to the other .tga found in the .msh

@yankfan : could you please give me the complete name of the "other"tga file?

i have these 6 diferent files in the data_ABC/sides/msh folder concerning the officer (i use paint.NET instead of gimp) :
imp_inf_officer(type:paint.NET Image), imp_inf_officer(type:msh-file), imp_inf_officer.msh(type:option-file), imp_inf_officer.tga(type:option-file), imp_inf_officer_low1(type: msh-file) and imp_inf_officer_low1.msh(type: option file).
and now: which one do i copy , which one is the "other" tga.-file?
help please

the .tga is called

test_inf_officer.tga

so just copy imp_inf_officer.tga and rename it to
test_inf_officer.tga

@yankfan : are you sure? there's no test_inf_officer.tga in the imp-sides folder..or is it somewhere else. or is it not necessary?

@teancum : where do i have to put the downloaded infantry-file ? in the bf2-modtools/assets-folder and in the data_abc/sides folder? help please..

the reason there is no skin is because you need to make the file test_inf_officer.tga in order to do that i just suggest that you copy imp_inf_officer.tga and rename it that way you don't have a messed up skin. The skin test_inf_officer is necessary because without it you just get a completely black trooper with no texture(there is a problem with the mesh) so it needs the test_inf_officer skin as well as imp_inf_officer.

about your question to tean you need to put the unit in data_modid/sides/whatever your side name is and call in in the .req file for more info look in the jedi creation doc or everything you need to know thead

test_inf_officer, as I recall, is a LOD texture specified by the mesh. Without it, you'll see the officer fine up close, but when it goes low-res due to being far away, it'll show the missing texture color, hence the need to copy and rename the existing texture.

it still doesn't work. as i already said: the unit is there in the game, but he's just WHITE (exept the weapons). i copied the imp_inf_officer.tga ,renamed it to test_inf_officer.tga and replaced this with the imp_inf_officer.tga. this didn't work ,so i just copied imp_inf_officer.tga ,rename it but didn't replace it this time, but is still didn't work. :x :x :x

ok,well i made everything i changed so far back again and copied, renamed, replaced the imp_inf_officer (without tga at the end) with the test_inf_officer (without the tga) and at i've got the boots, hands, the belt and the emblem on the hat now , but everything else is stil black ...maybe anything else i have to change, copy, rename, etc ?help please

Please don't doublepost. It is against the rules.

And since you seem to be having a problem with the renaming, here is a copy of the imp_inf_officer mesh hexedited to only use the imp_inf_officer.tga file you already have.

sorry for the doublepost

EDIT:
wow thx Maveritchell. it worked. (no idea why i didn't get it )..but the other stuff that teancun gave me to download didn't seem to work either. could you perhaps upload the stuff for the officer in black as well? :D :D

and i've got a problem concerning the oficer: he doesn't have any sounds and some of his weapons don't work. any idea how to fix it ?

Someone else has a black uniformed officer? If you mean the one in Boarding Action, I never released it. No promises, but I might upload it as soon as today, after work.

Do you have an error log? It'd be a great help.

Those officers (grey, black, green) work, they're in the Convo Pack on certain levels. Dunno why they didn't work for you.
