But imo the dark terrain looks awesome! Only the few distance on Geonosis is a bit too high, I think.
I also think that there should be no sonic turrets in the HeroAssault mode.
Btw: Are you going to add the geonosians?

I would just add a generic sunlight light and have it cover the whole map. It would be much easier.

Oh, and the reason the terrain is still dark is because it needs to be re-burned. (Under Image->Burn Terrain) -- you need to do that any time you change the lights, or the terrain will be like it was.

Darth', might I know whether you've run into "major" problems while you were converting "Geonosis : Spire", so as to use it in Star Wars Battlefront II ? :|

The biggest problem I had so far was not getting vehicles to spawn. I did not know I had to assign Vehicle spawn points to a side. Because it wasn't nesceserry in SWBFI.

I'm workin on it. I don't want to release some half-way done map. I'd say 2-3 weeks at least.

And people with the CD-rom version of the game, download this: http://s23.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=15KL ... E0ZUJVEJD6, put it in C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData, run it and select my map and please post the errors it gives here or pm me.
I have a slight problem...

When I go to download the Geo map (that being the first link)... I get a prompt asking for a user name and password... Is the file password protected or something? This isn't the first time I've been hit with that pompt trying to download stuff from that site. Dunno if its just me or what.

Also... what is the second link you post there of? It was telling me the link was invalid... even though it would take me to the yousendit.com site.

EDIT: Nevermind, it worked now. I at least have the Geo map now. Dunno what that second link is. Can't figure out the purpose of that stupid prompt that comes up. What I do know is it froze my download all the other times before.

Tatooine: Dune Sea is now in-game. Just thought you'd like to know.

Do you mean that it can be downloaded with saying that it is "in-game"? If yes, where can we get it from?
Or do you mean that you tested it in-game?

I'm really looking forward to all the old maps again, I got rid of SWBF1 ages ago so to have all the oldies playable again. Are we aiming for having all levels in all modes (inc XL)?

@ Shadow -- No, I just wanted to let everyone know it's now 'working' in a manner of speaking. Still a long ways to go. I know everyone else releases the maps quickly, but I'd rather take long and release it without bugs.

@ Carbine -- Yeah, every map I'm doing will have all modes but Hunt. Some maps (Tatooine: Dune Sea for instance) will have Hunt as well, but that depends on whether there's a species to actually hunt on the map.

Oh, I forgot flippy! Can you send me the URL again?

I'll fix what I can and then send it back to ya. I'll probably just fix it enough for conquest, as my CTF tutorial is almost done -- you'll be able to follow that.

@Tean - So you're working on Dune Sea and Docks for release in a few weeks?

Posted: Wed Mar 01, 2006 2:38 pm
by Teancum
It's going to be longer than a few weeks. Probably at least a month to get the 3 maps I'm working on done plus fix errors on Docks so flippy can finish it. Yavin 4: Arena is nearly done. I'll probably release 1.0 in a week or two which will include Conquest, 1-Flag, 2-Flag, Hero Assault and XL modes, plus Asajj Ventress. However, it won't be the final version (which will be 1.1) until we get the Kit Fisto model extracted from th XBox version, as they have calls for Kit Fisto in the luas, and so I figure he should be in.

Tean - So, your "babies" will be Docks, Dune Sea and Yavin Arena then? I will be perfecting Citadel and Judderman is working on getting Cloud City perfected as well. So, in your opinion, you feel that if a "old school map pack" is to be released, these maps should have ALL game modes included? If so, I'll work towards that result. I feel that it is better for the community to have lots of options too. BTW, how do you feel about working with Artemis towards producing a ONE complete Yavin Arena map, rather having 2 out there? Too much confusion for some...

Hmm, i'm working on porting my maps(mainly kamino serene). Anyone have a remedy for the no spawns bug that you get when you load the map? I know i've fixed it before, but i can't remember how i did it.
