That is one heck of a first model, but as Ace said, you'll have to reduce the number of faces per object, as the poly count is too high right now.
I'm not sure how to do that in XSI though.
Love both the Gundam and the Transformer, although the Transformer looks a bit disproportionate.

Press the "I" key to go into raycast edge select mode and select and delete edges or edge loops(alt+MMB) that do not affect the topology of the model, redraw new edges( \ key) or pre-triangulate parts if necessary, to keep roundness.

Ace, will this affect the UV's?

It shouldn't affect UVs unless you changed the topology, for example deleting too many edges, if you've already UV mapped it you can keep an eye on it while deleting edges by checking out the UVs in the texture editor, in which case you can easily fix.

Well, I was able to reduce polygons on my gun down to 2,574

without having to change the shape of the model. Is that to many polygons still

???

That's a bit over, but it should be alright.
I think.
Don't trust me though, I've never gone over 2500.

Ok, I'll probably try to reduce more polygons

, but I don't think I can reduce much more

Can you give us a screen?
Maybe we can point out over-polied areas.
Oh and for those who haven't seen it, an untextured T3 Droid from KotOR.

It was a car. Arund the 70s.
@ Silva Dalek: 70s as in the page, not the year. *tease* lol
@ Taivyx: Every time I post, you post before so I have to repost!

*Off-topic* -- Megazord was inspired from Voltron.
